Douglas was certainly chinny... but that night I think he would definitely beat Arreola. Arreola would definitely beat the washed up late 90s version of Douglas, and would have a shot at the 80s version as well. Douglas lost to guys far worse than Arreola in the 80s.
The best version of Douglas vs the best of Arreola? Well, the best of Douglas was better than Tyson. So...
Highly skilled boxer with poor self discipline vs crude fighter with poor self discipline. Pretty obvious almost any version of Douglas would have no problem out boxing Arreola. Prime Douglas that beat Tyson would dominate and KO Arreola.
Douglas lost to Journyman in the early part of his career. when he returned in the mid 90s he was knocked out in 1 rd by Lou Savarese..Louis Monaco also knocked him out cold after the bell in 1st rd. to say that version of Douglas beats Arreola is pretty damn silly.
But Douglas lost to pretty poor competition early on his career... to say that almost any version of Douglas beats Arreola with absolute certainty is silly. Now the 88-90 version of Douglas beats Arreola with ease.
The Tyson version would give most heavyweight greats a problem IMO, and could certainly take out some ATG`s
Exactly......Arreola has had a few "off" nights himself, but there's nothing Douglas does or is to suggest he would survive 12 vs the big Mexican. Not saying Arreola rolls right thru the Feb 1990 Buster. But the Tyson that Douglas beat had a pretty bad virus that week leading up to the fight. There is only the McCall fight to suggest Douglas had what it takes to beat an Arreola.:think
