Douglas saw a Tyson that was much better than Rahman's first Lewis.

Douglas is just better at everything. He might even win this on any given night of each man's career.

Certainly on these nights, it's all Buster.

I'll pick Douglas. With that said, in two fights where he showed up in form, against Tucker and Tyson, he got caught with big punches. Rahman definitely could take him out. If it weren't guaranteed that Douglas would be in peak form, the odds would get a lot closer.

Douglas had the better boxing skills, and would probably take a decision, but the Rahman who beat both Corrie Sanders and Lennox Lewis inside of a year from one another, could have certainly taken an upset win.. Not a forgone conclusion either way.

Except the version that fought Lewis was lossing fairly decisively until for some strange reason Lewis started putting his hands down and backing up when Rahman started throwing something and then once he was backed up to the ropes it was lights out.

This was more of Rahman taking advantage of Lewis' strange behaviour than anything Rahman himself impossed on Lewis. I just watched this fight recently and it was a strange turn of events, cause Lewis was winning the fight quite easily up until that point.

So I personally think the Douglas who fought Tyson would have beaten Rahman fairly easily.

The flipside of your Lewis argument, is that the Tyson who Douglas was fighting wasn't exactly behaving normally that evening either.. In fact, it was like watching a totally different fighter from the one who decapitated Berbick and destroyed almost everyone else. The difference for me, is that Lewis was generally fighting a fairly good fight, until he merely became careless, whereas Tyson wasn't the same from the introductions onward.

seems like some of you think that douglas was on another level then rahman. but to be honest, douglas was better but not as much as some of you claim. people base douglas's potential on that tyson fight but you cant forget how terrible tyson was that night.
