it is a tough fight to figure because of Douglas being so hot and cold. And Douglas had this bad habit of tasting a punch and not wanting to fight on. I could see anything. Douglas landing a right hand and knocking out Moorer or Moorer hitting Douglas and Douglas going down and staying down while looking like he could get up. If I had to pick. Hard to say. The Douglas who fought Tyson? I would say would stop Moorer in 3 or 4 rounds. That was his night and he did great on that night.
Moore was more consistent, but the Douglass that came to fight Tyson was twice the Douglass that fought anyone else. Buster busts him up, k.o. before the 9th

Two reluctant warriors. In fairness to Moorer though I don`t think he ever quit like Douglas did. Buster was more talented but also flaky. Michael Moorer did have heart and desire to win. We saw him climb off the canvas a few times on his way up the heavyweight rankings. The Cooper fight was a classic and he even got up to beat Holyfield. Moorer`s Southpaw Stance and good right jab throw Buster`s timing off enough to eek out a decision.
that is why we have differing opinions. Douglas punched hard enough to rock Mike early in the 1990 fight. and Michael did not have a good chin at all. I am not sure Moorer was a better fighter than Douglas. I don't think Michael would have ever beaten Mike Tyson. I think the chin of Moorer would fail him against the sharper Douglas. Just an opinion.
if it happens it would happen early. Look Moorer lasted what was it 10 with Foreman, but Douglas is sharper than Foreman with the punch. The punch which could land is that quick right. Douglas is one of those guys who had the skills to do anything but not the motivation or heart. If you put Evander Holyfields heart in Douglas. Douglas could have been another Larry Holmes type fighter. Which is a great fighter. He just didn't have the heart of Larry, but the skills. There was no mistake that he beat Tyson. He was good. Moorer was good and best at 175.. He couldn't stay at that weight. Had he, not many guys could have held up against his power.
Moorer unfairly remembered for Foreman ko and Tua blow out. He was so much better than that. His jab was brilliant in first Holyfield fight . And showed incredible determination to rise of canvas 5 x before losing rematch. Moorer more than a match for Douglas who had one magical night against Tyson. Moorer wins a hard fought 12 rd dec.
