"Buster Douglas vs. Mike Williams" of '88.. Almost forgotten.. WHY?

    Mike Williams vs Witherspoon was on ESPN. I had it but taped over it. Not a thriller. Williams seemed stiff as many bodybuilder types do. Witherspoon clubbed him a when he could. Williams was maybe rocked a few times whereas Tim was never in any danger.

    You are wrong i saw the fight minutes ago and when larry says that was talking about mercury williams.. i think buster douglas was the underdog here

    Because Mike Williams wasn't much and did nothing after this.

    No. Witherspoon was still a very good fighter in 1988. The problem was he broke from Don King and couldn't get many big fights for a long time afterwards.

    Buster looked pretty good here but at the time it didn't give any indication Tyson should worry. I still think Tyson's regression i.e. lack of head movement and lax training contributed quite a bit to the Douglas loss. I mean there is little resemblance between Mike Williams in this fight and prime Tyson.
