    I can see where hes coming from, physically, technically Douglas was good, he was fluid.

    Difference is the mentality, Lewis was always determined to be an ATG, Douglas nevere really had that mentality.

    mentally Lewis was in a whole different stratosphere to Douglas

    Not really. Greg Page and Trevor Berbick - though past their best had more standing in the division than McCall did in 1989. It was only because of McCall's eventual win over Lewis five years later that Buster's victory over McCall went up in stock.. But at the time the fight was little more than about two mediocrities keeping busy.

    Who and where was it stated he was an all-time great? His second and 3rd best wins were pretty impressive stuff by any standard. As for being top ten during the 80's, he was already that before the Tony Tucker debacle in 1987.

    Not completely inconceivable given that as an all-timer, Lewis was stopped twice by one-punch KO.

    Douglas wasn't the best ever or the most dedicated, but your description of him disrespects not only the fighter, but each of the fighters he defeated...and also those that defeated him. Think it out.
