    Or vice versa.

Watched the fight again after seeing Frazier vs Tyson debates and it proved to me that Frazier vs Tyson would be a war.

    My opinion: Frazier wins

Tyson had abandoned most of what he was doing in the 80s by that point. He was just a really explosive finisher and physically still prime or close to it.

exactly. that was not tyson...it would be like saying a bodybuilder is the blueprint for drawing with frazier because jumbo cummings did it

Fraziers biggest advantage is that Tyson doesn't really work out of a clinch. If he can slip shots as Tyson comes at him and then fire back on the inside, he can make Tyson real uncomfortable. It would depend on the kind of referee they had in the ring with them, as well. An old school ref would benefit Frazier, he wouldn't save Tyson from close quarters right away just because he's holding.

Tyson was in his prime when he fought Tillis, a man most use as a barometer for Ali to gauge a Tyson-Ali fight, and it took him 6-8 rounds to finish him.

    Everybody has their opinion.

Tyson wasn't expecting Mathis to press the attack with his head on Tyson's chest.

If you watch that fight, you will notice that Tyson did not clinch that much.

Agreed, I think Frazier could take advantage in a similar fashion, as Mike isn't at his best there.

only a moron would believe that this would be a blue print for someone who fights completely different

Mathis Jr. was a slick counter puncher and Frazier was a come forward machine ... Frazier would try and trade with Mike and get smashed

Tyson is the undisputed GOAT in terms of H2H rankings ... nobody beats him at his absolute best.

Mathis traded with Tyson; just because he ducked doesn't mean he counter punched

    Re-watch the fight.

Mathis was trying to "out slick" Tyson

Holding and hitting and falling into your opponent trying to smother him is not "trading"

Im a Smokin Joe fan but I dont think the style works in his favor against Mike Tyson. Frazier was a slow starter and Tyson was a Hurricane in the early rounds.

I think Tyson`s wicked uppercuts with either hand would be Joe`s undoing.

I think if Joe could get into the 5th or 6th round he would have a good chance of making it about heart and stamina as much as speed and power. He could win.

Overall though Id have to take Tyson by early Knockout.

buster fought well against tyson but didnt have the strength to sustain it. Frazier i feel would have walked into a whirlwind and been demolished, within 3 rounds
