All the hoopla about taking back May and Alvarez being the future of boxing but the problem is that he not that exciting...he's a decent fighter but he's not fast, swift of foot or even highly intelligent in the ring. Canelo don't have the skills or will to be the best, his only purpose is Oscar de la Hoya trying to stay relevant, if he fights Cotto I take Cotto by stoppage.

He's already been exposed, a limited fighter can't carry the sport of boxing, but he can take the Oscar route, lose all his big fights then claim he has a great resume

I think he'll be better at 160lbs when he doesn't have to dump those extra lbs.
Should've moved up after the Floyd fight.

His problem is, along with the not so great skills, no speed the fact the he's got really short arms. He's like a boxing T-rex.

One thing is for sure, He's definitely not taking the Floyd route, cherrypicking his opponents and fooling some people into thinking he's "tbe" with his "unbeaten" record. Canelo is less skilled than Floyd but definitely more exciting.

plus he isn't even really beating these dudes, the Lara and Trout fights are so iffy. They both deserve rematches. Its hilarious, is that what you call cleaning out the division? Those two performances? Please. They are both just as relevant as he is, in terms of performances.

I don't see Cotto stopping him, but Cotto could definitely outbox him. And Canelo will land counters with good power. Great fight.
