that's the refrain of shock and dismay we'll hear all night saturday in every sportsbar and every fight party across the land when hopkins is beating the smirnoff outta kovalev to the disbelief of kovalev and his white hope nation.

lol...i'm not jacori...but hopkins is gonna take this. it's about pride...something caparello and agnew and the other guy don't know anything about. you can't beat a man who refuses to be defeated. kovalev and his fans are about to find out what it means to go up against a real fighter for a change.

If Kovalev hits Hopkins with the body shots he used to KO Agnew and Caparello, I don't see him staying up.

that's the other thing about kovalev...his power is hugely overrated. he hit caparello particularly with a tap to the body that had no leverage behind it and caparello went down... there's a reason you never heard of caparello or agnew before or since.

I think Kovalev has skills other than power.

He feinted against Agnew. He also has good timing.

No matter who it is, the winner deserves credit.

You can never bet against Hopkins, those who said Tarver and Pavlik would beat him were shut up pretty quickly

That being said Hopkins is aging so Kovalev could take advantage and actually stop Bhop

Thats what makes this a good fight but my predicition :

If Hopkins comes in the same shape we saw for the Calzaghe/Pascal fights then he is going to scholl Kovalev

feinting is like hooking off the jab or slipping punches...basic **** every fighter knows.

i remember the tito fight...the build up to that was crazy...every city they went to, it was a huge event....it was a like a coronation campaign for tito.
it was almost a given that tito would KO hopkins in the most brutal fashion and take the middleweight crown...tito was a truly scary dude. but hopkins went in there cool and collected... took tito to school then knocked tito tfo. shocked the hell outta me and a whole lotta folks who had bought into the tito hype. i seen that scenario replayed so many times afterward...odlh, tarver, winky, pavlik, pascal, shumenov, cloud. and to me, kovalev is the kind of guy that's made to order for hopkins...not like taylor with his speed and movement or dawson with his height and counterpunching. kovalev is like a slower, easier to hit, less skilled version of tito.
