I think the tournament is quality regardless of his absence but wanted to know why? Was he asked or did he/his promoter not fancy it?

Also a lot of folk are writing off froch. i think one of his main problems is his nerves. he is 32 and it has been very tough for him to break into the elite. he really had to earn his shot and he knows 1 defeat and it could take him a few years to get a shot again. i think that froch knows he has the 3 big fights signed regardless of result will help relax him from the start.

Also big respect to AA for stepping into this.

its hard to call a winner but, depending on the rules of tourney i would be surprised if someone won overall with a 100% record! cant wait.

It's well known Bute turned down more money in a Froch fight to rematch Andrade.

Will be funnier still if Andrade actually manages to KO him this time.

He will rematch Andrade and if he comes through that he can do whatever he wants and wait to fight the winner.

My guess is that Pavlik will move up and fight Bute as the tournament winds down and the winner of that fight (Bute obviously) will fight the winner of the tournament (I believe the final will be Arthur vs Kessler, but I'm rooting for Froch!)

:good Bute wanted to take the mandatory and IMO the tourney doesn't need him anyway. It's brilliant as it is.

Yeah, but you need to honor your word in the avatar bet. You lost, wear the King Kong avatar.

When did I take part in an avatar bet? Never. I tipped Darchinyan to win via TKO 10 but never in an avatar bet, my friend.

What matters is that Andre Dirrell and Andre Ward will be there to uphold the honor of the USA. I hope we have an American SMW champion again.
