I hate starting a separate thread about this...but I am getting worried.

Bute's contract with Interbox expired at the end of March. It's the 3rd of April and we still haven't heard anything about a new contract, even though we were promissed it would be signed a week ago at the latest!

    What is going on???:huh

Why has the contract not been extended for another 2 years yet?:huh

Interbox is probably waiting to finalize the deal with Sauerland for the Larsen fight to announce everything (fight, Bute's contract, etc.) at once. That is how they usually work.

Hmmm...they could have at least said as much!

"We will announce a new contract and Bute's new opponent as soon as we have finalised the deal with Bute's next opponent"

    or at least:

"Negotiations for a new contract are progressing well for both parties, as are negotiations with Bute's most likely next opponent. We will announce everything as soon as negotiations are finalised"

They could... but they don't usually do this kind of stuff. For some reason they are very secretive about their "behind-the-scenes" activities.

It would be interesting if a major US promoter made an offer to Bute... like GBP... Lucian is young, powerful, undefeated, already a champ and should get a US TV deal ASAP. The more offer he gets the better deal Interbox has to offer!

I'm just curious: is Interbox powerful enough to bring the big names to Canada? Will Andrade fight Bute in Montreal or GBP will win the purse bid in your opinion?

Surely they will iron things out with Bute, or else we would have to assume they've lost their minds. Bute sells out the house everytime he fights up there.

Hey, Montreal posters, why is there no talk about the contract not being signed yet on the Canadian boxing forums?:huh

good question. I remember March 12th i read an article where Larouche said basically "its a done deal. Just a few numbers to finalize" and now no confirmation yet... weird.

One thing for sure is that if Bute leaves interbox he loses his fanbase.

    Why's that then ?

Because boxing fans prefer promoter's than the boxer's themselves ?

    LOL
