For sure! I for one would no longer be a fan.

Loyalty and integrity is very important in the murky world of professional boxing. Biting the hand that fed you, turning your back on those who believed in you whilst you were a nobody or getting greedy when getting to the top is completely unacceptable.

Also very important is being fair and doing the best you can for your fighter and helping him achieve his potential, once he has won a belt, though, instead of just cashing in on the belt in meaningless defences.

    Let's wait and see.

I hope that this deal is made. Without Interbox and Montreal, Bute would not have been anything. He would habe been just another guy in Sauerland's or Universum's stable hoping to get a shot at the WBO aged 30, like Inkin. He should not forget that.

Interbox should also not forget that without him, they are not big players even in Montreal (compared to GYM), nevermind world-wide. They should not get greedy either and must put up the cash to attract credible NAME opponents for Bute. If Bute makes it big, better young fighters will be attracted to Interbox in future and Interbox can become a serious world player, not just a Montreal/Canadian player.

If it's a matter of give and take, both sides have to see that they have to stay together and build on the excellent relationship they have enjoyed so far.

    Bute is loyal.
Bute has a lot of fans in Montreal, he's big here.
    He learned to speak french.
His friends are under contract with Interbox: Diaconu and JoJo Dan.
Bute and Larouche are very near of eachother.
Interbox always have been fair with Lucian.
He has not a single reason to sign somewhere else.
Finally, it was the same thing last time. As a matter of facts, it's always like that with Larouche, he starts saying things will be done next week, it finally takes one month. Let's be patient.

Just be patient, if the situation turns out different than we expected, there is nothing you can say or do about it. The only reason Lucian would sign with an other promoter is money. I can tell you that Interbox will never let Lucian leave on a money problem, these guys know Bute is their gem and anything they can do to make him happy will be done. It's just very long and secretive everytime they have something to announce, it's their way.

    « Don't worry, be happy »

    It's not just money!

    It could be:
    • access to better sparring partners
    • better/more highly rated/more well known (American) opponents for voluntary defences (e.g. Green, Miranda, Lacy)
    • big fights in the USA against big names in the future: e.g. Pavlik, Taylor
    • more exposure in the USA on big US networks
    • better protection against strange clauses e.g. not having to fight a voluntary defence in the other guy's backyard (Larsen in Denmark)
    • possibility of fighting in Romania once in a while
    • guarantee of having fights televised in Romania (not asking too much money for TV rights in Romania)
    • protection from GYM/GBP who train and help all your opponents
    • guarantee of fair refereeing in America against GBP fighters (Andrade)
    • guarantee of winning purse bids to stage fights at home
    etc...

Man, you take this way to far for me to judge, what I think will happend is, after Andrade, they will aim at unifiying and it all comes down to money. Because big networks will be involved, that gives everybody better possibilities, better deals, better exposure etc.

I also think that GBP, Sauerland and such will always have the edge for all the important clauses and bidings since the have so much power worldwide. So, even in the best world, it comes down to how you feel doing your job, and how respected and how appreciated you are by your entourage.

If the picture that we know about here in Montreal is the right one, well, this guy will not go anywhere soon. People here have so much admiration for Lucian, you know for shure that Montreal has one of the most popular sports team in the world, the Canadians hockey team. The captain of this team is Saku Koivu a guy from Findland that plays here for over ten years. One of the problems with him is that he never spoke any french in the media all this time, while Lucian, after a couple of years have learned the language and always speaks french whenever he can. He's charistmatic, humble, works very hard and perform even better. So, whatever Lucian wants, he will get, I also think he likes living here very much.

But, you never know until it is signed....
