    IBF RULES:
3.When a contestant is knocked down, the referee shall audibly announce the count as he motions with his right arm downward indicating the end of each second of the count.

    4. When a contestant has been knocked down, the referee will order the standing contestant to the farthest neutral corner and begin the count. If the contestant standing leaves the corner before the count has been completed, the referee shall discontinue the count and order the standing contestant back into the corner. The count will not resume until the standing contestant has returned to the neutral corner.

    5. Three (3) knockdowns in any one round do not automatically terminate the fight. If in the referee's judgment, which must be keen and decisive, the knockdowns have been indecisive and clearly have no injurious effect upon the boxer, the contest may continue but with good sense and judgment and the boxer's welfare always paramount.

    6. The bell will not save a boxer in any round of the bout. If a boxer is "downed" just before the 3-minute bell in any round, the referee's count shall continue and the bell will not ring until the boxer rises and his hands clear the floor.

So according to those rules... Bute won. ugh... But the ref should have stopped it earlier when bute was wobblying his way around the ring. Anyway.

Btw no need to hate on canada seriously. Dont forget canada was the homeland of Gatti and Lewis(although not born here!)

    That means nothing

Andrade wasnt out of his corner enough for the ref to stop the count... Anywhere else is the world he continues the count

But yeah leave Canada and Bute alone not there fault lol

    yeah....your right!!

Im a fan of Bute but i really hope Bute will give a revange to Andrade!!
Seriously i think Lucian Bute i've lost this bout...but he was the only one responsable....if he doesn't want to show off in the 12 he will be the unanimous winner without controversy!

Andrade was in the corner! Do you want him to be hugging the god damn corner post?

I can show you thousands of fights were fighters stand a lot closer and the referee rightfully continues.

Oh please. Talk about technicalities. In THAT situation, you don't get all technical about where the guy who scored the KD is standing. Andrade was close enough to the neutral corner. It's like giving someone a speeding ticket for going 1 mph over the limit. Yeah, the law saids you broke the law but common sense saids.......

Definitely not Bute's fault. Even if it's not Canada's fault for it to happen in its first major fight in a long time reflects really badly on it.

Thanks a lot, i was actually googling the rules at this moment. I was asking myself if a fighter had to be OK to fight or just UP when saved by the bell.

Still, i'm ashamed of the image we gave the rest of the world. I remember when Lucas was robbed in Germany, we hated so much. Montréal is a great boxing city but now, everyone will associate it with dishonesty.

Bute (and Canadian boxing to a degree) can save this by immidiately making an announcement that a rematch will be done in California (NOT Canada again!!).

The alternative is that the feeling of fraud and deceit will establish and Bute will be Ottke or worse and Canada the new Germany of the Ottke days.

People have to act smart and fast to avoid this. Talking and trying to spin this will not work.

    Respect bro.

Let's hope - for the sake of justice, for the sake of Andrade and for the sake of Bute's name... that a rematch is declared VERY soon. And preferably from Bute's camp. If we have to wait for the IBF to sort out the mess then the Bute camp will get no credit for it.

Another rule to take in account though...

The referee shall exercise immediate authority, direction and control over the contest to which he has been appointed.
    1. He shall be the only one to determine if injuries have been produced by a foul.

    2. He shall be the only one to determine an intentional foul and cause points to be deducted.

    3. He shall have the power to stop a contest and render a decision at any stage if he considers it to be too one-sided, or if either contestant is in such condition that to continue might subject him to serious injury.

Bute was in such a condition with 10-20 seconds left.
And thats why Bute should have lost.

You have been showing as much class as Andrade which is alot... It is seriously refreshing to see a guy such as you who knows how to be a fan of not only his fav fighter, but of the sport...

Take note this is what a fan is ... You dont have to be a nuthugger at all to be a fan :deal
