I was hoping that this fight would pull though on the PBF-JMM under card and for once we could be graced with a well rounded PPV. Too bad. :-(

One thing for sure. Even tho I think the Darchinyan-Agbeko fight is a good one, I'll listen to UFC 100 tomorrow night...

If I were Bute, I would not fight in Mexico if Don King has anything do do with it.

GBP must have all the contracts signed for Monday. That doesn't leave them a lot of time to work out things. In fact, Bute and Andrade may already have signed the papers. They must be in IBF hands for Monday. We'll see.

Golden Boy can put together a great promotion anywhere, so packing an arena of 10.000 shouldn't be a problem. If not Andrade himself, putting something like an Israel Vazquez tune-up on the undercard should do the trick. It certainly makes more sense than fighting before 5.000 in El Paso or something.

This makes the Mayweather-Marquez event a lot less pleasing.Zab vs Matthew Hatton as the featured undercard bout just doesn't cut it.They are going head to head with UFC 103 on the same date.I see a big red inker for boxing that night.

It still may be on the Mayweather-Marquez undercard. GBP paid a lot of money for Bute-Andrade II. It can make the Mayweather-Marquez card very attractive and help it become profitable. Or try to make a fight in Mexico to help Andrade to win and lose money with the two events.

good point. why have two, less appealing events when you can have a mega fight with a solid undercard?

**** it, why not have the fight in montreal, clean up on the gate, and air it live on the ppv telecast before the main event?

Andrade is a TV-friendly fight, a warrior, and fights for the full 12 rounds every time.

Bute is a very good fighter with lots of speed and skills.

Anyone who televises this fight comes out a winner.

And props to Bute for defending his title outside his comfort zone.

Unless the number of HBO's Mexican subscriptions do something to increase the fight atmosphere, I will want this fight in Montreal. As consolation, HBO can bring in Cortez to ref. this fight.

I think if they(Golden Boy) put one of their many mexican fighters on the card, De Leon, Antonio Escalante, Mares etc... it could work. But I think the fight would be biggest (for Andrade) in L.A. he has been living there for years. Put Israel Vasquez's (Also an angeleno) comeback fight in there, with Rocky Juarez and one of their Indonesian fighters (John, Daod Jordan), and now you are talking about a decent card with a good box office. It sounded like, however, that Schaefer wanted to give Andrade a fair shake this time around, if the fight were to take place in Montreal then they might have that same incompetent judge there Marlon B. Wright (he was so biased).

As incompetant as this ref was, replay still showed that Bute would have beaten a proper count.

Good fans in Mexico. They'll be able to sniff out a good fight regardless of the combatants' ethnic or national background; I expect the numbers (and the fight) should be good.
