At noon. GBP and Interbox will probably be the only bidders. Interbox boss said Bute will face Andrade next. He said Bute thoughts are all for Andrade. Every time he hits the sandbag, he has Andrade face in mind. He thinks GBP may like to put the fight on the Mayweather-Marquez card, September the 19th. Good U.S. exposure for Bute, and a good pay (75% of the purse).
Since it's going to the purse bid and it looks like GBP wants to fight. Bute could end up making more then for the Froch fight. Like you said. The champion gets 75% of the bid. If the bid goes to $1,000,000 (It probably won't) Bute would make 750 000$
Extremely cool laffie! Really sad the Froch fight didn't happen but can't say I'm dissapointed by the Andrade rematch. Having it on HBO PPV even though on the undercard would be good aswell.
I don't know. They may have a deal with Showtime plus a full house crowd. GBP has HBO but what can they give for a semi-final? We'll know in a few hours.
Although I will be looking forward to this, what happened to the possible Froch-Bute fight? I thought Bute had special dispensation from the IBF to fight Froch in the meantime?
All I know is Froch was not able to get a UK television deal. He wanted the fight to be in Notingham but with 7000 seats, the arena was too small. Then, they talked about the O2 stadium. Can Froch bring 15 000 people there? Maybe not. Time passed by and since Bute had not make a deal, the IBF stated he has to face Andrade. Bute himself wants Andrade first.
Andrade is more dangerous for Bute than Froch, IMO. Not that he's not good. He's a better boxer than Andrade but his style suits better to Bute. Andrade's style is the worst one for Bute. For bute, Larouche and Interbox, Froch is not a so big threat. Sorry for your theory. We may all be wrong though about Bute and Froch could win.
Boxing coverage is in dire straits over here at the moment. The sport is facing a very uncertain future since the demise of Setanta and with ITV ****ing over the sport as well. Why didn't Froch offer to fight in Montreal then? That seems an odd decision if he can't sort things out from this side of the pond. :think
He said many times he wanted to fight at home against Bute. If we're lucky, the occasion will be there in a couple of months. It would be a great fight.
:goodI wanna see it too. Ah well, looks like a voluntary defence next for Froch then. Unless the Pavlik rumours are more than just that. To be honest, I don't trust a word that comes out of Arum's mouth, though.
This fight on PPV is bound to be a major flop.Whoever thought of going head to head with a UFC PPV event on the same date is just asking for an ass kicking. UFC has had this date for a long time and for GBP to choose the same date is stupid.Maybe Oscar has had one too many beatings to the head.:nut
