This coming from someone that was rooting for Andrade, by the way so don't go there. :yep

Bute was clearly up and on his feet by 8. And that is counting from 1 the absolute nano-second he hit the canvas. Screw the referee, where he was etc. I could care less. Facts are facts... Bute WAS up at 8.

Anyone that argues this is completely doing so for jaded reasons.

For Crissakes! Roy was up at 9 vs. Antonio Tarver! Maccarinelli was up vs. David Haye! Yet both lost by TKO because they were not in condition to continue.

When a fight is stopped not by reaching the count of ten, it's called a TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT. Also you CANNOT BE SAVED BY THE BELL.

Anyone... I mean ANYONE home? :hi:

If Bute was up, then the ref had to ask him to walk toward him to see if he was fit to continue, as the fight could not be stopped by the bell. Bute would have collapsed. This was a sham.

Valid point. I am NOT saying anything contrary. What I am saying is that anyone that says he wasn't up before 10 is completely insane.

And again, I was rooting for Andrade.

What does my incorrect asesment of Vitali Klitschko have to do with the FACT that Bute WAS up well before 10?

Take your Klitschko shyt elsewhere. Not the thread or week for that matter.

I haven't seen the rule for myself but I read on another website that the IBF rule states that during the last round, if a fighter get kd at the bell, he only has to beat the count as the fight is over.

I dunno what to think. :huh
Does this mean that the time keeper should have rang the bell as soon as Bute was up ? Would it have avoided all this controversy ?

IMHO, there's nothing clear about this situation. There needs to be a rematch.

Andrade should have won the fight, the referee stopped the count for NO reason at all. Andrade was in his corner and the referee walked all the way to the middle of the ring yelling as Bute was picking his self up with the help of the ropes, even when he did he was CLEARLY out of it. The referee was bias from start to finish anyway, he warned Bute in the 11th, gave him his SECOND WARNING ONLY after he held nearly the entire fight and in the 12th he kept holding and holding yet a point wasn't taken off and a third warning never happened. This referee is piece of garbage.

Nobody is disputing the fact that he was up before 10 but as it's being mentioned already, that doesn't matter one bit as he was suppose to walk to the ref and he clearly was dead on his feet. The ref actually counted to ten while bute was up, most likely to give Bute more time, and the fact that he didn't ask him ANYTHING reeks of foul play.

IF this ref refereed theMosley Mayorga fight, MAyorga would have survived and possibly win the fight on points.

Apparantly there are different rules for different Councils/Federations? If what you read on the other website is indeed true, then Bute clearly "finished" the fight. If the rules are that he needs to walk to the ref with his hands up, he was never instructed to do so and that is the ref's fault.
