Never. Not ever the courtesy of a reply back. Nada, Zip, Ziltch. Kessler the ducker wants no piece of Bute, today's most avoided boxer.

I never saw Stieglitz fight. He does not deserve that paper title. Kessler is real popular in denmark. So of course the danish sales will be huge. How is Stieglitz's popularity in Germany?

Kessler was in the TOURNAMENT. He lost. Case closed. And yeah..i agree with you, only no-brainers see that Kesller is more deserving, while Bute should beat the crap out of all Montreal cabdrivers so idiots can complain about his level of competition and when he's about to step up they cry he doesn't deserve the fight.nice point Einstein

Sauerland said they did give a counteroffer.

How can you guys be so definitive in saying that they are lying?

Kessler won his last fight in the tournament before he had to take a one and a half year break due to an injury.

So you missed something there... Kessler was due to fight Green or Johnson in the last fight and if he won he would have been in the final. The easiest fight of the tournament, but nothing that could be done because his eyesight was too bad.

So no - the reason Kessler is not in the final is not because he lost... but because he had to stop fighting on doctor's orders and spend the next year and a half in recovery. Now you know that. You're welcome.

Ward totally outclassed him, Froch almost draw him. No matter who wins the S6 he already had given us an ideea of what could the fight look like. Bute had no chance, and how he will perform against these 2 guys is a mystery so far. Donțt you think that from the neutral fan stand point, that will be maybe just a little more intriguing and interesting ?! Its not like Bute got invited in the tourney and refused so you can say it is his fault for not fighting Froch or Ward.

Just ignore the haters. Ward's the man for beating Kessler but who had Kessler beat?

People will have to eat their words soon enough.

It's Sauerland's word against Bedard's. The offer was submitted two weeks before the WBO updated their rankings. The day it was finally established that Kessler's is Stieglitz' mandatory, the decision to reject Interbox's offer was made. No conclusive report exists of a counteroffer. All the post discussions about lowballing Kessler only serve to save face.

Through the whole process, the Kessler group game plan was to wait for the WBO to update their rankings and take it from there.

Well... a half-blind Kessler got head-butted and held in Oakland.... I'm not at all sure things would go the same way next time... Even Ward knows that this fight was not good promotion for him and he has said that he would like to fight Kessler again now that Kessler is healthy. I think Ward had a ton of respect for Kessler and arranged some 'extra' stuff to try to win.... now, I think that Ward believes he could have won even without all the special effects... and he want to try to do that.

I still think Ward is the favorite, but if the fight is not in California and Kessler is well then who knows...

Would it be interesting to see Bute against Ward? Yeah, sure it would. It would be interesting to see Bute against a top guy - period.

Any way... there is no point arguing this. The fights will happen either way... 1) Kessler is Emeritus and can get the fight when he wants to, and 2) Sauerland has an option on Bute and can get Bute to fight when and where they chose. They got the option in return for letting Bute fight for the belt in the first place.
