Sorry but I've been around too long to fall for rhetorics.

From the very beginning, your position hinges on speculations. You, like anyone else here, haven't the slightest idea on the content of the alleged counteroffer, provided there was one. Conversely, the Interbox people stated they never got a reply back. Who to believe?

The only things we know for fact are:

    (1) Interbox officially submitted an offer to the Sauerland group. Both parties confirmed the information and details of the offer were disclosed in the mainstream press.

    (2) The Kessler people announced they won't pursue negotiations with Interbox on the same day the WBO updated their rankings, which made Kessler the mandatory opponent. The fact Sauerland did not use Kessler's WBO #1 challenger status to justify a counteroffer indicates he already had his focus set on Steiglitz. Basically, he just walked out and went for Stieglitz.

Conversely, details of a counteroffer were not confirmed by all parties. Heck, all reports of a counteroffer, whatever the content of it was, were not confirmed by all parties. For sake of argument, your above-quoted example of counteroffer makes Kessler just as guilty of not wanting the fight as Bute was charged.

Take away all speculations, there's nothing confirmed factual that supports your position (i.e. Bute ducks the better competition). On the contrary. The only confirmed facts tend to show a Kessler reluctant to fight Bute.

Why would Sauerland counter with 50-50?

Does Bute deserve a 50-50 split when Kessler generates much more money apparently than Bute?

I think they probably gave Bute the same terms that Interbox came up with. Cannot see why not...

No. I'm saying people are very inconsistant & biased in how they judge things.

    If you want fact then..

    1)

Kessler has met Calzaghe, Ward, Froch, Mundine etc.

Bute has never met any top fighter.

    2)

Kessler has travelled abroad to fight Calzaghe, Ward, Mundine etc.

Bute has never fought in the opponents back yard.

1: It is not speculation when I have a source.

2: You could just as easily argue that it is Bute who is the reluctant part. Why else offer a 70/30 split (or thereabout)? If he wasn't reluctant surely he'd have made an offer closer to reality.

    With those facts..

Doesn't it strike you somewhat hypocritical if some Bute fans call Kessler 'a ducker'?

From the facts (let's forget about the mumble and discussions) who seems to be more protected and a ducker?

And contrasting the fact with the way some Bute fans behave... doesn't that tell you why Bute is getting more and more haters too?

I want to like Bute and I think he (probably) is a good fighter, but some of these dellusional Bute fans do him no favors.

    You know so much! :happy

Bute was clearly reluctant as he personally offered 70/30 split (20$) to Kessler.

    I get it.

As I said many times before, I don't think these pro fighters are scared.

    But their promoters/managers are.

It's ridiculous to blame Kessler or Bute here all day.

These guys fight who they are ask to fight

Weak comeback, as usual, which demands little effort to debunk.

Bute's pro career extends over 402 weeks or 29 fights.

    Now:

    (1) Who did Kessler fight through his first 29 pro fights? Look it up. Nobodies.

    (2) Who did Kessler fight through his first pro 402 weeks? Look it up. Other than Anthony Mundine, nobodies.

Within the same number of fights and period of time, Bute's resume is actually MUCH BETTER than Kessler's. Give Bute the time and number of fights Kessler was given before he fought the top boxers.

Also note (for the 10,000th time but your anti-Bute psyche won't allow it) that the Kessler/Froch and Kessler/Ward were made because of the S6, a tournament Bute was not invited to.

    Source?

All I heard is Sauerland vaguely saying that Interbox were not interested by a fight in Copenhagen, when he had already chosen Stieglitz. I've never heard of a concrete counter offer by Sauerland.

BTW, there are no 70-30 or 50-50 here. It's not as simple as that. There is amoney coming from the gate, from Showtime and from TV right across the world.

    So what?

Why come up with a host of excuses? Maybe you can explain to yourself why 31-32 year old Bute hasn't met anyone and never fought away - and that is fine. The reason doesn't matter and it doesn't matter if all those excuses are true or not. It doesn't change the actual facts one bit:

    1)

Kessler has met Calzaghe, Ward, Froch, Mundine etc.

Bute has (because he has had less fights and so on) never met any top fighter.

    2)

Kessler has travelled abroad to fight Calzaghe, Ward, Mundine etc.

Bute has never fought in the opponents back yard (let's say that this is also because he had less fights, but who cares what the excuse is..).
