**** mre i just watched that video and i've seen fights stopped for less than that. mouth wid open, arms down, face puffed up, heavy breathing and not throwing any punches. i thought refs usually tell a fighter to throw back or else he'll stop the fight??

Some could argue that this fight should have been stopped before the knock-down, Bute is clearly in a state where he cant protect himself.

Again, overreacting, rarely a fight is stopped in those conditions.

What were you thinking when Bute went down Thunder ? Did you think he'd be able to make it back up ? I'm glad he retained his title though, i favoured him to win. Andrade's no joke, knew that from the beginnning though..

No overreacting here mate! I simply say that one could argue the fact, that Bute was not in a condition to defend himself, and that is a legit reason to stop a fight!

When I saw him go down I was having flashbacks on Roy talking about the Tarver KO:''We don't stay down,we get up,we get up and fight'' and I was yelling at him to get up.Honestly I never thought he would get up,he really is getting underrated, not many would have gone up.Amir Khan would have been killed by the last punch:yikes

I argue that he could have continued the fight,he was winning and he didn't go down til then. The fight should have been stopped at the end not sooner or later.

Seriously, all credit to Bute for being able to get up, and no matter how unsteady he looked, managed to fight on, credit for that. He was fighting on heart at that point, showed how much of a fighter he was..

No problem with that arguement... But the refs job is not to decide who is winning or not... He is in there to protect the fighters.

But the controversy would have been of the same level if he really had stopped the fight before the knock-down.
