Isn't Rodriguez called LA BOMBA? Very dangerous opponent for Bute, Edwin is 22-0 (15 KOs). He should stay away from him.
Bute can hide out in Canada taking tune-ups and confidence builders for the rest of his career, he still gets raped again the next time he faces Froch or leaves his backyard again.
Bute should fight Rodriguez before he gets in the ring with Froch again. His last outing didn't go too smoothly and Rodriguez will, at the very least, bring the fight to him and make Bute work his ass off for the victory. Coming off of the Grachev battle, a fight like this would force Bute to look at where he needs to improve and try to put it into action in a solid/convincing performance. Let's say he struggles mightily, though...I'd have no interest in seeing Froch-Bute II.
Rodriguez is a waste of time, Grachev was a better test than Rodriguez will ever be. Rodriguez is by far most overrated prospect in the SMW division, he beat nobody and actually was beaten by a short "nobody" in a top50(at best) SMW, Will Rosinsky.I would prefer to see Bute trying his best against Froch for the second time even if it means loosing, than wasting time with guys like Edwin. If Bute want's to have another fight before Froch he should choose guys like Kessler. Get Stevenson or Groves, if you wanna test your chin and see if you can keep calm against guys with decent power. To bad Pavlik is fighting Ward. Make a fight with Cloud.
I agree. Bute has had his tune-up. If he needs another, what is to say he won't need yet another after that, and so on. Is Bute finished? If he isn't, he should fight proven world class fighters next, preferably Froch, win or lose. If Bute is finished, then what is the point of fighting all these tune-ups? Froch is the fight that needs to happen next, even if Bute's chances are small. If this fight cannot be made for March/April, Bute should fight Pascal or Kessler next.
Pascal would be ideal as a confidence boosting fight and as a test fight against world opposition. But it also almost as dangerous as Froch, because of some similarities.
You don't know that, he is undefeated. I only know Rodriguez can hit hard like Andrade. From one punch you can be down.
This is a good fight for Bute. It won't do anything for him legacy-wise as it will probably squash the rematch with Froch, but Bute would be smarter moving up the ladder in the WBC and WBA and chasing a Ward fight. Styles make fights, and Ward is right up Bute's alley. If he could get Ward in the ring, he WOULD beat him and put the "collar of shame" on Ward for being KOd by a has been, similarly to the hate he's getting from ppl who claim he was "exposed" by being KOd by Froch.
Dangerous? Bute's already been destroyed, not just beaten. 'Dangerous' doesn't come into it anymore. What Bute needs to prove in the remaining few fights of his career is that he is a bone-fide world class fighter. Losing doesn't matter anymore. What matters is the level of performance against other world class fighters. I disagree that Pascal would be an easy, confidence-boosting fight for Bute. But I think Bute needs to only fight proven world-class fighters from now on until retirement.
I saw him in 3 fights, didn't looked to me like he hits very hard, he lost his fight against Rosinsky but Judges gave it to him on points
