Timothy Bradley vs Kendall Holt filled 7k at the Bell Center a few years ago. That's not even bringing up the fact that most of Bute's title reign was against mediocre competition. I'm pretty sure next time Bute fights, doesn't matter who it is, he'll get around 10k people to show up.

But Bute, while beating up some bums (they were not all bums), had the belt. Now he is going to fight bums without the belt. Expect Bute's support to gradually erode if he is fighting nobody's without a belt.

He just fought a nobody. Edwin Rodriguez is 10X the fighter WBO titlist Abraham is scheduled to defend against. 10 ****ing times.:-(

Nobody likes to look bad, nobody at that lvl risk's to lose because he underrates his opponent and give him chances. The only thing Bute might have done is trying to trade with Grachev, to see how well he handles it instead of box and move. Bute looked slow..er in his last fight btw.

IF he fights Rodriguez this might be the first fight of Bute in the last 5-6 years that I won't watch.

Rodriguez is a very underrated boxer who hits hard. I think King Arthur might have problems with him.

I know it doesn't make sense but remember that Edwin is an American action fighter who had an outstanding amateur career. He's also Dominican and there aren't many high profile professionals from DR at the moment...except for Javier Fortuna( the best prospect in the world IMO).

Froch may have damned well ruined Bute. I was thinking Bute still had a shot against Froch until his last fight.

I would be very disappointed with Bute and InterBox if they were to make this fight.

    Bute has had his tune-up!

Is he supposed to be a real world-class fighter or just someone who can compete at world-class level only on his best day, with the wind behind him?

Sorry, but a real world-class fighter shakes the dust of defeat off in a tune-up and then gets back into the saddle in the next fight against a real world-class fighter!

Bute needs to fight proven world-class fighters from now on, not unproven prospects!

Come on, Lucian! What are you doing?

As for me I was never sold on Lucian Bute. A lot of you here are giving this guy to much credit but was he ever really tested? I'm not so sure. Froch takes him to school not once but 3, 5 times. Face it...it is what it is.
