What's your point? I didn't say he was prime did I? You said he was a domestic level journeyman. You were categorically WRONG. He was a World Champion who was past his best.

Saying he was a journeyman is disingenuous, and means you either don't know much about the sport or you're just happy to lie to make your point. The fight before he faced Haye he knocked out Sebastiaan Rothmann in a brilliant back and forth fight. Rothmann was fringe world class with a big punch and only lost narrowly on a majority decision to Steve Cunningham. Cunningham you presumably know was a genuine world champion.

So Thompson despite being past his best was operating at a good level against high level opponents who were fighting for world titles. So why don't you explain to me how he classifies as a domestic journeyman?

Or you could just accept that due to your bias you wanted to overstate the nature of the loss. It was also Hayes 10th professional fight. How many fighters in their tenth bout face someone as dangerous as an even past his best Thompson still was? Haye dominated the fight but gassed badly and got stopped on his feet by a big hitter.

No shame in it at all really and it made him improve his fitness.

Khan lost to ****ing Prescott and went on to be a world champion beating Kotelnik, Judah, Maidana, Malignaggi etc.

Haye proved he was indeed the "real deal" by becoming the Cruiserweight World Champion and then stepping up to win a Heavyweight world title too. Or does "real deal" mean he must be an ATG?
