As others have stated, the one fighter in your analogy was 75+ fights deep; around 20 lbs above his best weight, past his best and giving away all manner of physical advantages and in the process of suffering his only actual knockout defeat in 119 fights whilst opposing a bona fide ATG, who just happened to be an ATG puncher.

The other was 30 fights deep; fighting at his natural weight; considered to be at the apex of his career, fighting a technically challenged future hall of famer (but certainly not ATG), who's certainly not an ATG puncher.
