Bute looks very good, but he hasn't fought anyone of note yet, aside from a few gatekeepers. Hopkins is brilliant against southpaws, knows how to handle them, so he fancies this 1. Is Hopkins young enough to win? How good is Bute? Those are the real questions this fight should answer
Yeah I understand what you're saying but Andrade was a pressure fighter which helped him in the first fight. Hopkins allows his opponents to come to him and he also hasn't had a KO since '04, six years ago. I do see him hurting Bute slightly but in no way do I see Hopkins stopping him or having him as hurt as he was in the first Andrade fight. And as far as Bute "ko'ing" Hopkins, I don't see that either. Hopkins is a roach you just can't kill and can make you look really bad if you try to hurt him. Hopkins is a clever, crafty guy and if he says he sees some weakness in Bute he could use to beat him I believe him. If this fight does happen I'm rooting for both but would be more happier with a Hopkins win over Bute.
A lot of Bute's knock outs came when his opponent did one of two things; 1; tried to bull rush him. 2; covered up in a defensive shell and did nothing. Hopkins won't do either of those things. I can see Bute winning, but I would shocked if he stopped Hopkins.
Well this won't look like the Pavlik clinic . It really is a lose lose for Bute more so.considering that Bute is a boxer and a mover expect something like : Jones Calzaghe Taylor Wright A very ugly ass punch and grab fest from BoreNrad . Who knows maybe a few low blows and if he may for some reason get hurt or fall behind expect another acting job !
If Hopkins wants this fight then you can believe you he sees something in Bute he can exploit. Not to mention everyone is telling him he needs to retire which is going to further ignite him to put on a good show.
3 yrs ago hell yes . Now not so sure . I mean please tell me why he couldn't press Jones who has been done for yrs now ? I don't see Bute being a plodder like Pvalik . Hopkins could win but it won't look pretty bank on that . Bute should not take this fight .
Well, Jones still has speed and power so he did have to approach him with a degree of caution even though he was way past it. I hear you, though, and part of me thinks Hopkins is in over his head as he'll be approaching 46 years old but the other part of me almost feels like you got to trust that he knows what he's doing as he proves people wrong time and time again. One thing that I don't think will happen is him getting KO'ed considering walking punching bags like Andrade and Bika have gone the distance with him. Even though Jones was guy shy when he did off Hopkins showed he still has great reflexes as he hardly took any clean punches in that fight.
The problem is that Hopkins sees something he could have exploited in the past. He won't be able to do it now.
