agreed, bute is head and shoulders above kelly pavlik in every department. the only thing about bute hat worries me is his D, but he has such fast hands that he throws straight dwon the pipe and hit with such force that D is almost unnecessary lol.
It will prepare him for Ward, but he has nothing other than that to gain by beating up Hopkins. I doubt he fights him.
Yeah but that speed worried no one not even Trinidad considering his legs were shot ..Now im a Jones fan but his reflexes were gone Hopkins was out ladning him ..I mean even in the Calzaghe fight he couldn't avoid the laziest of punches let alone his cleaner shots ..And Hopkins had to foul this version of Jones .. I just look at Hopkins history against boxers ..He's always was smart enough to nuetralize their best weapons but did in such an ugly manner ..At this stage im done seeing that type of Hopkins .. A fight with Bute will come down to the Pace Hopkins tries to set ..And that usually comes from roughing up the other fighter .No thanks ..But if they make it I will still watch I do admit that ..
I agree. To me any fight with Hopkins at this point is a lose, lose. You beat him.......you beat an old man you should have beat. You lose, you lost to an old man you should have beat.
A dominate win over Hopkins would make Bute a bigger name in the States. Given his other options are Jesse Brinkly and Saiko Bika, he really has no reason not to take this fight.
not only that...but if he just eeks out a points win everyone will be throwing the "e" word around. he would have to win going away.
I don't ever want to see Hopkins fight again his fights are boring he has turned into John Ruiz with all the holding, grabbing, clinching and faking low blows he does it is a disgrace.
I would be shocked if ANYONE stopped Hopkins. Dude doesn't get hit square, and when he does, he has a great chin. That said, Bute isn't that far off from Calzaghe in terms of style (he punches less than Calzaghe, but also punches much harder than Calzaghe), judges twice thought he was outworked by Jermain Taylor, and he looked like crap his last two fights. I'd be very surprised if Hopkins could beat Bute at this point.
Not really. A lot of idiots still think he's good. And he's still ranked in Ring's pound for pound top 10.
Is Bhop maintaining a big family? After the RJJ fight, he should realize that it is already time for him to retire. There is nothing more for him to prove. Holyfield is still fighting because he has a big family (and a very big mansion). I don't think that it is the case for Bernard.
I don't think it's possible to stop Hopkins but it is possible to outwork him and I think Bute will do just that. Why do you insult Hopkins when you have a picture of him as a signature?:huh I wouldn't say he won't be able to do it, I'd say he has a very slim chance to pull off the upset. I don't see Bute not winning against Hopkins but it could happen...you never know in this sport.
