Bute: "I hope Andrade beats Tsypko!"; "I hope to fight Kessler in Spring 2010!"

...laffie already broke the news in the Bute thread, but I thought everyone should hear about it.

Bute's been saying for a while now that he wanted to fight Kessler. Here's what Larouche said yesterday:

Stephane Larouche (Bute's trainer and manager): "If everything goes well for Bute in 2009, we're hoping to arrange a big fight against Kessler in spring 2010; we're already started preliminary talks with the Kessler camp with this in mind."

Bute is said to be in great shape for Zuniga, the man he's concentrating on at the moment.

About Andrade v. Tsypko, he said the following:

"It will be interesting. I hope Andrade wins because then we can have a rematch and remove all the doubts that remain [from the first fight]."

Larouche about Zuniga: "It's a very interesting fight for us because he's very aggressive and hits hard. The kind of things Bute will face against Andrade, he'll practice on the 13th of Match [against Zuniga]. We will choose the same kind of opponent for a further optional defence in June, if we're capable [allowed??] to, so that he'll be ready for [the mandatory defence against] Andrade in autumn."

Andrade about Bute v. Zuniga:

"Bute's going to beat Zuniga. He'll probably end up beating him easy! It think it will be an easy fight for Bute. He'll just outbox him. He says he will put pressure on Bute but I don't think Zuniga is strong enough to bother Bute."

Bute about Andrade v. Tsypko:

"I have seen both of them fight. It will be an interesting fight. I think Andrade will be too strong for Tsypko. I think he will win. I hope he will win!"

So, if Bute gets past Zuniga, whom do you reckon Bute will fight in preparation for Andrade, if they're allowed to carry out another voluntary defence? (Remember that according to IBF rules, the champ has to carry out a mandatory defence every 9 months...and Bute's last mandatory was late October 2008.)

And what do you think of Bute's/Interbox' plans for the rest of 2009 and early 2010?:good

Not sure why you have Froch in there, but whatever.

I worry about Mikkel too. He'll fight Larsen and then another fight against ??? (it won't be the winner of Taylor v. Froch because Taylor would not be interested and because Froch would still have to fight a mandatory before being allowed to unify; if he beat Taylor, he'd take on an easier opponent next anyway, to make some money) and it's unlikely to be Balzsay...Bika would be ideal, but I doubt that will happen...and there's really no one else really good enough...save Inkin...Inkin would be a decent choice for sure.

So...Larsen, Inkin???...and then Bute, in Spring 2010. (Kessler never fights more than 2/year...he won't fight Larsen earlier than late April anyway.)

 

It couldn't really be earlier. Bute needs to fight a mandatory in summer/autumn...so he could only fight Kessler earlier if he fought him late 2009...

...there's NO HYPE at all about this fight as you can see, if this had been a thread about Froch fighting Kessler...we'd have had 70 replies already.

...there's a long way to go, but with Taylor likely to defend his belt in the USA against anyone but Bute and Kessler, the two best at 168 will just have to get it on together, I guess.:conf

 

It wonder whom they have in mind for Bute after Zuniga and before Andrade, if Bute beats Zuniga and is allowed another voluntary before the winner of Andrade v. Tsypko. Larouche says it will be someone who fights a bit like Andrade, just like Zuniga does, for example...???:huh
