It took this horrible ref 11 rounds to warn bute of holding which he did excessivly all fight. Credit to Bute for easily outboxing Andrade for the 1st 10 of 11 rounds, but the holding by Bute was terribly excessive. The only round bute did not hold excessively was the 1st 3 rounds and round 5. In round 5 Andrade had bute in some trouble. Yes Andrade was nasty inside (fouling), but being held ALL FIGHT LONG, I feel that he is justified winging around on the inside trying to get free. Then finally the lack of a count when Bute was totally out..just horrible. Bute fell almost through the ropes at 27 seconds. The ropes held him up. That shoulda been called a knockdown. Bute, just like hatton and ruiz, box some then hold a lot.
over reacting..this fight is HIGHLY controversial and Bute held all fight long..inititated mutiple clinches every rd. Multiple..more than 10-20 clinches a rd most rds after 4. he shoulda been warned way earlier and deducted points. the outcome would have been affected.
Ruiz, Hatton and Bute have a thing in common..., like it or not, they have become world champion and defend their title more than once
I wont dispute its an effective style, but there has to be a limit to it. I was feeling very bad for Andrade after rd 4. Bute held him everytime he moved close. Then Andrade would fling his arms and head trying to get free..of course there was butts and forearms, Bute held him wayyy too much. Bute should have been able to box him and spin him for 12 rounds without running out of gas. Andrade is as predictable as anyone in boxing.
Your missing the point. If you cant hold you either have to keep moving or you have to keep fighting. So this would have affected the fight big time. 1) Andrade would have had a chance to rough him up more. (stop him) 2) Bute would have run out of gas earlier.
Yes he did, big time vice grip clinches, very excessive , ruins a fight and points should have been taken. That was hometown cooking in so many ways.
This is overreacting at it's best. What? He's not american so it ain't ok for him?He didn't hold that much.
