That still puts him in the top 3 though. Aside from that, Bute has done way more at this weight than Abraham. If Abraham beats Dirrell in impressive fashion, then you can make a claim for him to be above Bute or Ward. But even that would be stretching it.
Andrade fought some top SMW's nd no one stopped him. He's fukn durable wit heat n his hands. Bute iz a slick southpaw wit heavy hands.
He should be considered top 3 at 168. He just beat a very, very tough fighter. He has fought good competition at 168 and looked good in his victories, and he just erased dispute on his one questionable victory
1. AA 2. Ward 3. Bute 4. Dirrell/Froch 5. Dirrell/Froch 6. JT 7. Stieglitz/Miranda 8. Stieglitz/Miranda Bute should go vs Stieglitz Miranda winner while he waits for S6 winner imo.
No Kessler but you have Miranda. How then, do you explain Ward at no 1? Oh wait, he beat Miranda. atsch
He fought Bika, Berrio, and Andrade and was down once, partially due to exhaustion. His chin is waaaaaaaaay more proven than Ward's
And what evidence do you have of that. The andrade fight? He was gassed. Bute's never been buzzed from a punch in a fight. Ward and dirrell can't say the same. But look what ward just did and what dirrell would've done had he not been a ***** in the froch fight. So, in the end it doesn't matter. Bute stopped a guy that supposedly couldn't be stopped, and he did it early while looking eye pleasing to the fans and HBO. So, Bute's stock just soared today in the eyes of boxing. That's it!
I don't think tonight changes his ranking...whatever that was. We already knew he was a better fighter than Andrade based on 11.5 rounds of the first fight, what he did tonight was erase the doubts and put a rubber stamp on it. The manner of victory was great, but the main thing is he beat Andrade but now he's got to fight a big fight to truely prove himself. He said a few years ago he wasn't ready for Kessler, but now he's ready for a big fight. If its Pavlik as the indications are then so be it, I think he's ready now. We'll know more about his ranking then.
