Indeed a good fight, and I actually slightly favor ruined Bute in this one. Close on points.

He has some confidence back it seems, so I don't believe he'll fight like he did against Pascal.

If old Bute is back in terms of 80-90%, he will stop DeGale.

James "Dobbin" Degale has the jaw of a carthorse. He won't be easily stopped.

DeGale made $1.55 million for the fight with Dirrell, so the purse is about the same as the last fight.

Should be a good fight. I'm giving the edge to DeGale.

Sounds good. I'm a Brit but I actually quite like Bute and wouldn't mind him winning at all. As for a prediction, depends which Bute shows up. That last fight of his looked like it meant something and DeGale seems to gass a bit in later rounds. Late TKO for Lucian

I'm not sold on the conditioning of either fighter, frankly.

Good fight, but it's one DeGale should win provided that doesn't let him down.

Depends on what Bute shows up I guess. Pre Froch Bute with his confidence still intact is a much more difficult proposition for DeGale. However, if the post-Froch lacking self-belief gun-shy one shows up DeGale should win. Not sure if we'll ever see the old Bute again though. That said, he has serious talent and he can really bang with that left hand of his, to both head and body. DeGale's chin seems solid but Bute has dropped and stopped some of the toughest SOBs out there at 168, seriously hard men, with single shots so DeGale will have to be wary of that.

The only time I recall seeing DeGale hurt was from a right hook in the 5th round against the Pole Wilczewski. I know he was dropped in the amateurs by Darren Sutherland (RIP) and rumour is he was knocked out in sparring by Billy Joe Saunders too. I don't know if there's any truth to that but from what I can gather he was definitely dropped by him. Likewise Bute will have to be wary of DeGale's power as well though as DeGale seems to be hitting with more authority these days and obviously Bute can be hurt too.

I didn't know Degale had a jaw on his liver.

Interesting fight. Bute better have a good start because if he doesn't he's mentally weak and will fall apart. I think Degale beats him.
