Anyway, Stieglitz-Bute would be ok too. With HBO in the picture, it could be enough to convince Stieglitz to fight Bute.

Why not? All can be negociated (judges and referee). But I think it would be better for both fighters to show their talent in United States.

IF Miranda beats Stiegletz in January they aren't going to be willing to give that belt up in April by fighting Bute. :deal

It's a bigger IF than that.

    Miranda won't win IMO.

But you can never know. For the right offer anything can happen.Stieglitz might be open more to talking.

This fight would make a lot of sense. But I'm not sure Miranda is going to go to Germany and beat a decent fighter in Stieglitz, tough fight to call there. A Bute-Miranda funification fight would be a good fight for HBO and really good for Bute, he beats Miranda and makes himself the guy the Super 6 winner could go to after the tournament. Entertaining fight that Bute should be a solid favorite in.

Bute would beat either Miranda or Stieglitz with ease but I cant call the fighter between Miranda and Stieglitz.

    I'd prefer a Bute-Miranda match-up than a Bute-Stieglitz though.

Well...if they can get the same amount of money with a single fight on HBO, rather than at least three others to make the same income, then the decision will be easy to make...

The only time I've seen Stieglitz is when he fought for his title. I just 'kinda' remember him as 'solid'. I have no idea if Goosen can keep Miranda focused. I think in the Ward fight it showed Miranda had worked on his defense, but he came completely unglued when he couldn't connect on Ward. Would the Miranda of the KP fight be able to wear Stieglitz down enough to land the KO shot?

Goosen co promotes him now. Given his path to the title, that would have to be one hell of a pile of money for him to fight Bute THAT quickly. But who knows. If he wins a title he would have fulfilled his dream. Cash and out might not sound that bad to him.

The hell are you talking about?

Feb. 2007: Froch turns down a fight against Bute for a shot at the IBF title.

June 2009: Bute turns down a fight with Froch. He wants to close the Andrade chapter first.

July 2009: Showtime announces the Super Six. Bute was never invited.

Agreed. Miranda may indeed spring the "upset" against Steig., though I think a one trick pony approach (land one big shot) against Bute would be a recipe for disaster.

Bute boxes Miranda's ears and off and KOs him in the middle rounds (6-7 ect).

I'm appalled by the fact that people still say the same stupid **** about Bute, Pavlik, and the sauerland six. The math on this just isn't that hard to calculate. Bute + Pavlik = abraham/Kessler can't win = don't invite them. Simple.

Hopefully Miranda will get by the corruption of Germany and bring home the belt. From what I have seen of Stiegltiz, I am more concerened about everything else keeping the belt in Germany then the actual fight. Don't get me wrong, Stieglitz is far from an easy opponent, I just see Miranda having the perfect style to overcome whatever he brings to the ring.

As far as what happenes next, very hard to tell. In one way I see Miranda taking 1 or 2 reasonable title defenses and enjoying his dream come true. It doesnt mean he is the best, or even in the top 5, but winning that title means the world to Miranda and nothing will change that. However, with the win, Pantera will also feel like he has overcome his deficiencies and strongly believe that with Goossen he can beat anyone. Let's not forget Miranda has never backed down from a challenge. If Bute and HBO throw out enough money, I have a funny feeling that Miranda will jump at the opportunity to make a statement.

With all that being said, I think HBO smartest option (if Miranda wins) is to use that April 17th date to showcase both fighters against beatable opponents and build up an even larger unifaction bout down the road. No rush, the Super Six is gonna drag out for a long time.

EXACTLY. Edison or Kelly vs. Bute right now is just way to early. Especially for Kelly since he is a MW.
