Frankly, I'm suspicious there was a gentleman's agreement in place that would have Pascal win, but would also have Bute do just enough to make a rematch sellable. The fight was a huge moneymaker, and milking it into a trilogy is GYM's most profitable end game for both fighters. I'm generally not a conspiracy theorist, but every now and again, I'll play that card. This is one of them.
Well, Pascal and Bute are now with Interboxe, not with GYM. Personnally, I think that fight is a disgrace and a way to milk something that really, trust me, nobody really wants to see because the first match up was one sided. Bédard (the CEO of Interboxe) is a capitalist who uses boxing to make money. Yvon Michel (CEO of GYM) is a boxing fanatic who makes money thru his passion. So Bédard is trying to make money, which is fine, with something that boxing fans don't really to see.
Make your money while fleecing the public! Sounds like boxing 101 to me. In short: Another fighter tells kovalev not to call us we'll call you.
it takes a few losses for fights like this to happen....couldnt get them to fight each other forever and now they will have 2 fights under their belt soon. its called nothing to lose. still waiting on sturm vs abraham
