    Bute:

“I feel fantastic, said Bute after his training session. I made some important improvements in the last four months in working on a daily basis with Howard and Otis Grant in Pointe-Claire. My fans will see it August 15th at Bell Centre. I will be meaner than I was at my last three bouts, I will move more in the ring, and I will be better technically, offensively and defensively. You will see, I will use more my jab and work more intensively in the ropes, in what we call the inside boxing.”

“It’s just been four months since I train with them and chemistry is well established, he continued. I now have a new team, but I still have things to learn, whether to be better on defense, be more aggressive, use my jab more, moving the head better and focus more on inside fighting.”

“His defense has really improved and he is happy here. Lucian is also a great example for the kids here at the gym, he explained. Even on off days, he is still here doing cardio on the machines!”

“He trains very hard. He is 35 and continues to work as hard. Certainly, if he does as well in his fight than he does at the gym, he will look phenomenal”, added Howard Grant.

    Otis Grant:

"He was very comfortable on the outside but on the inside he wasn't comfortable at all so we worked on that and added some defense in his repertoire and he's learn it very well.

    About his last fights:

He was a little bit hesitant. The shot was there, he was in range to hit his opponent and he would not take it. Now as he works and he gets comfortable when he makes a guy miss he counters him right away. You take the shot, the guy is giving it to you, you work to get inside you throw.

Howard Grant ask more aggressiveness for Bute in the ring.

They say Bute trows more, uses combinations(6-7 punches) works more inside, regained his confidence and desire to fight, under Grant Brothers.
Roach also worked with Bute on his jab, how to trow it better how to make his opponent overextend by stepping back when both are jabbing. Also worked on footwork and defensive tricks.

    Bute is done.

The sooner you deal with it the better.

Bute may rebuild his career. I'd like to see him against Chavez Jr and Fonfara. Also a rematch with Pascal would be awesome too.

Need to see him in an actual fight to see if he's improved, as opposed to sparring.

Besides, it's pretty hard for a fighter to peak at 35 or older. More athletes peak at older ages than before, but still, it's the exception rather than the norm.

You look chinny when you allow bombs after bombs to land flush on you. If he improved his defense, he will not get hit as much.

It's a big if tho. One is to know what has to be done, and another to be able to do it.

Wish him the best but if he's still gunshy with a shaky chin I don't see things going well for him in the future

He still owes me a fight against Ward, or someone similar as a fan that followed his career.

Bute always was and always will be a one trick pony, he was spoon fed and protected too long to make significant changes, and fighting every 18 months hasn't helped him. Stick a fork in him.
