Heard it on the radio. Negotiations have already started apparently.

Gotta love a guy who is willing to travel to take on the best challenges.

Good news. About time Bute stepped up. Although I wouldn't mind seeing Bute-Hopkins at 175.

I'm a bute fan, but what makes him even think he even deserves an instant shot at s6 winner? At the minimum, he should at least defeat the runner up before he just walks in after all the s6 fighters are finished destroying each other and take on the winner

very intelligent move by bute though, it seems to be working too, since everyone else seems to think it is completely justified

no man he's in negotiations with showtime

It's just the start of negotiations, the fight is obviously still far away and anything can happen.

Its a shame that the Bute-Pascal fight will not happen in the next year and a half with both guys tied up for the next couple of fights.

Kessler has got a guaranteed shot if he gets healthy.

So untill mid 2012 Butes opponents will be:

    1: Magee
    2: Mendy
    3: Stevens.

Bute's resumé will consist of a who's who of taxidrivers and garbagemen.

I'm guessing Showtime are laying down some terms for the agreement, general things (eg.location)

I don't know. Bute is the 1 having an ongoing contract with Showtime, Kessler is benched.
Bute still got 1 or 2 fights before the super six winner , what makes you think that one of those fights won't be against Kessler(if he gets better)?

Didnt you write that Hopkins was shot when Calzaghe beat him etc?

Bute is a good fighter but who has he fought? Andrande who knocked him out the first time they fought? I'm not saying Bute can't beat any of the top guys at 168 but he's got a lot of proving to do before I jump on his bandwagon.

Bute has fought no one. And by the time of the end of the Super 6 will have taken on a succession of tomato cans. Even if he has the talent, he will be woefully underprepared when he steps into the ring with someone like Ward or Froch. Remember what two years of fighting cans after the Calzaghe fight did to Kessler.

Not all of the fighters Kessler fought were cans, after Calzaghe. Thats a bit unfair
