I don't think Bute should get a pass to fight the winner, lets say Abraham wins the tournament then Bute beats him it doesn't prove Bute is the best supermiddle (based on styles others would be harder fights for him).

If Bute was to beat the runner up then the winner of the Super six, he would then be the undisputed number 1 at supermiddle.

I like Jermain, but nah.. Jermain needs to be off for a good few more months.

How about Dirrell if he gets eliminated?

Ive always said Bute should fight whoever goes out in the first stages ie Dirrell.

Personally i think he is overrated but i cannot be sure until i see him in there with 1 of the 5 (excluded Green)

Taylor would certainly go for that opportunity and there wouldn't be as long a wait for eliminations and rest time.

Bute v Dirrell would be a hell of a fight. I would Not be surprised by a Dirrell win.

    Honestly.

Ward, Abraham, Kessler, Dirrell and Froch would all be undefeated with Butes opponents.
Bute has not done JACK ****.

    My thoughts exactly :good

I really like Dirrell, thought he was unlucky against Froch who i also like. I would pick him over Bute after his performance against AA

Dirrell would win...but it would be a hard sell to get Andre to fight in Bute's backyard

The two eliminated from the S6, Bute (IBF), and Stieglitz (WBO), should make their own 4 man tournament.

That way there would be 2 tournaments in one division that unify all the belts.

Obviously the winners face each other at the end from the ultimate unification bout of SMW history.

Good idea. I'm not sure about runner-up, I mean the more of those guys he can get on his record the better, but let's not forget, he was never invited so never got the chance to fight these guys anyway.

But the guys that exit in the first round, sure. If they want to jump straight back in and mix it with world-class opposition straight away, then go for it. It's likely to be Green & Dirrell going out, so either of those would be a good fight and a good name.

Bute is becoming one of the most overrated fighters on ESB.

    Good post.

Bute doesn't HAVE to face the S6 losers...he will, to prove his dominance, but he doesn't NEED to do ti like a lot of people suggest...he currently is rankes no.1, and there is a good reason. Of course, he has to fight the remaining ''good'' opposition their is (Taylor, Stieglitz, Sartison, Balzsay, Bika II or even Pavlik), and when people gets kicked out of the tournament, he WILL fight them ! Why ? Beacause their will be nobody else to fight...not because he is obligated, like a bunch of people thinks...

Then, when the S6 will be finished, will he really need to fight the runner up ? By the time he will probably havw fought, Stieglitz and Bika for the second time, from the tournament ; Dirrell and Green (the two first to go), then Abraham and Froch (the semi-finals losers IMO), and the he should have to fight the runner-up ? After all these wins, I think he CAN and WILL fight the winner directly, I think both the S6 winner and Bute will have proven they are the Top2

I think, the smartest thing to do for Bute is first to fight Balzsay (or Taylor as a second choice), then his mandatory (probably Bika if Bika-Brinkely finnaly happens), the unify with Stieglitz (or the WBO owner at the time...). After that, he can take on the S6 left over of fight Pavlik IF and I say IF he can beat one or two good name at 168....following this, the rest will be the best batch of elite fights at the same weight from all time !!!!!

Bute vs. Ward (IMO, or Kessler, if he wins vs. Ward in the final) will be as good, or even better than Calzaghe vs. Kessler !!!
