look man we are boxing fans it's hard to keep a perfect assumption of sombody...look at mcCline most of us were thinking he was featherfisted and that sam peter was iron jawed. overated is used so much...over appreciation i think is the best term.
Quite easily. In fact it's much easier to overrate an unbeaten boxer than one who has a loss next to his name. If you think about it, I'm sure you can see it.
Your chikening out Slick? No bet on this bout? it's easy starting fires... but walking the talk is a little more difficult isn't it? wned
While i find him a bit overrated here Bute doesn't suck. He's an exciting fighter that will give anyone at 168 hell.
anybody who claims that Bute sucks needs to get there head checked..common the lad has 20 pro fights and still learning and getting better every fight. He did very well against Bika, i'd say possibly better than Joe did. Bika would make every top 10 fighter look foolish. He is surely # 3 or 4 in quite possibly the best division. Out of the top 20 smws, he is the one who started his pro carrer last (2003). Indeed not a brawler and maybe less exciting than a ''Jeff Lacy'' type fighter, Lucian is a skillfull, patient and a smart boxer. His handlers have chosen the right path for him and he is at the verge of holding his first major belt (grant you that IBF is not the best belt to have). As for being over-rated, I dont think many people around here say that Bute is the best in the division, BUT he does have the potential to become a great smw fighter. His #3 or 4 spot is fair in the rankings. Calzaghe and Kessler are in a league of ther own, mundine and Inkin would be a toss-up but Bute beats Lacy, Froch, and Berrio. Some fighters with 30 + fights under there belt might give Lucian a hard time in the ring but to Bute's credit, he does have the great ability to adapt during a fight which is a good sign for a futur champion. Basically, Bute is still learning and will get better with more experience. He has all the tools and potential to achieve greatness, and maybe in that repect, i may over-rate him, as do some others, but i guess time will tell. We'll see what he will get done next friday against Berrio.
