Zuniga is a dangerous fighter, and I like him. He'll give Bute a fight, but I honestly would rather see ZUniga vs. Froch. Would be entertaining, would give us a better gauge at what level Froch is at, and no doubt would be a real test of Froch's chin.
Zuniga isn't that great like people thought he was before he fought Inkin. However, he does at least pose some of the stylistic issues that Andrade brought to the table. Maybe its good preperation for Andrade II.
He took that fight on 2 weeks notice. Give the guy a break. :rofl At the world championship level. The boxers have 8-10 weeks training camps with specific training and sparring for the guy they are fighting. Zuniga got the call. Took a flight to Germany a few days later. Between fighting jet lag and needing to make weight. How the hell could he possibly train adequately for that fight?
I'm sure he was already in training. And guess what...if he's got 2 weeks to prepare for a guy...so has Inkin.
Inkin is a joke. I actually think Zuniga deserves a shot at Balkzy (spelling? sorry) who recently shutout Inkin. I wondered why Inkin didn't want to fight Froch. Funny how he wasn't 'injured' for the Zuniga fight.
Shut out? What in the holy **** were you watching? That fight was close, I scored it 7-5 for Balzsay, but really couldn't argue with a few people that saw it the other way.
Okay, not quite a 'shutout'. I had it 117-111 (I think, might have to dig my scorecard out, wasn't exactly at the top of my list for watching, although it was an enjoyable fight) I try not to be biased in scoring but I really don't like Inkin so maybe subconsciously I didn't give him close rounds that he deserved. Hope that clears it up. :good
Yeah...I would think that may be the case. I think Inkin had the better of the early exchanges due to his technical superiority. He faded and his stamina sucks, infact both their staminas sucked, but Balzsay came on strong through the middle and end. Inkin clearly took round 12. It was close from my viewing, and I downloaded it in high quality becasue I didn't trust the shitty stream I scored it on initially :good
You're right about your first comment, he was sparring with... Lucian Bute, for the Andrade fight! But when you're sprring, you are in shape but you don't have to watch your weight. Your second comment is probably wrong, as Inkin had a good idea of the date he had to fight. Do you think a promoter can organize a fight with a 2 weeks notice? Of course not. He didn't know who would be his opponent but he knew when he had to fight.
Zuniga and Andrade may look the same kind of fighters but there are some big diferences. When he is hit, Zuniga goes backwards as Andrade continues to press his opponent. That's a big difference. Zuniga is much smaller, his stamina is not the same but his flaws are. I think it will be an interesting fight but otherwise than an early ko I cannot see Bute lose this one. Zuniga will be punished and maybe kot. Bute will be very motivated for this one.
Give up and surrender to the hate. It is the force that rules the board. Seriously, you get guys that read the topic and post and don't bother with any of the posts already made even if it is only ONE. It is getting harder and harder to find the posts that are worth reading. I REALLY have to start making more liberal use of my 'ignore' list.
I don't score fights, but when I saw it after the fact, my first thought was "How is he going to end up losing this?" I was watching in a language I don't speak, so I wasn't influenced by that. Well, maybe a little. Sometimes you can tell the favorite by the between round replays.
