It could've been a slow burn. Rounds 5-8 were pretty easy for Bute. He probably figured it was academic then (similar to how it was against Joppy). Then next thing he knows they're in the 10th and Andrade is still there. 11th he's still there so on and so forth.
I hope he'll be very competitive. And if he manages to see the 11th or go to the cards, he should get a Squirrel award. Ukranian boxers usually mean business.
There's a famous psychiatrist who would say we were projecting our deepest fears and reading what we wanted to read...:scaredas:
He lost 5 clearly...struggling badly. 6, 7, 8 were better, but only because Andrade seemed to take his foot off the gas, for some inexplicable reason...:huh...if he'd have continued to do what he had done in the 5th, I don't think Bute would have gone past the 10th...; it's not as if Bute had figured Andrade out after the 5th and adapted...he didnt'!:-(

I think it will be extremely exciting, but I know I will still be the champion after tomorrow night. My first objective is to win tomorrow night. Then I am looking forward to a chance to unify the titles. Hopefully, I will get the chance to fight in the U.S. at a major venue like Las Vegas on SHOWTIME. I would fight Mikkel Kessler or any other champ in my division. I only want to fight the best at 168 pounds. My speed is going to make the difference against Zuniga. Im going to move around and use the ring to my advantage. Im going to throw punches from the outside and at all angles. He wont have a chance to get inside on me. Zuniga is a good fighter, but he is not as quick as I am. That is his weakness and I will take advantage of it. From the Andrade fight, I learned that if I feel tired it is a mistake to stand and trade with an opponent. On Questions about the 12th round against Librado Andrade: That (12th round against Andrade) is all forgotten. It has not affected me at all. I am concentrating on this fight. Sure, it was the first time Ive been down, but thats boxing. Knockdowns happen. Im not affected by that at all. I had good training and Im completely over it. I guess the people who doubt or guess me will see tomorrow night how much I am over it. It was exhaustion. Thats what it was. It was a good experience for me and I am a more mature fighter because of it. I have no excuse for what happened that night. I thought I had to finish strong and give it my all for the crowd. I won the fight and thats all behind me. FULGENCIO ZUNIGA I sparred once with Bute and I learned enough about him in order to beat him Ive been sparring with guys that are the same size as Bute, but they have heavy hands. I am prepared for anything. We know how we are going to fight a southpaw. Were not worried about his size. Were going to try to get inside and eliminate his reach. What I learned watching the Andrade fight was that the pressure does work against him. Im a little more confident because of Butes (struggles) in last fight. Bute has already been wounded and hurt. This is very big opportunity for me. I will finish off the work Ive started. Im not finished yet. We can win anyway we need to. Knockout. Decision. It doesnt matter. Tomorrow night, Colombia will have a new world champion. STEVE FARHOOD (ShoBoxs Color Commentator) To me, the biggest and most obvious story line of this fight is whether there is a lingering effect from what Bute went through in the 12th round against Andrade. Remember, Bute was undefeated and had never been down before. There is a possibility that, physically or mentally, he might be an alerted fighter. Thats what this fight is about. Nick Charles and the aforementioned Farhood will call the ShoBox action. The executive producer of ShoBox is Gordon Hall with Richard Gaughan producing and Rick Phillips directing. Fulgencio Zuniga http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=41585&cat=boxer Notable losses Dennis Inkin L UD12 Kelly Pavlik L TKO9 Daniel Santos L UD12
Bute looks a bit drained, big SMW he is.Zuniga looks like he walks around 168ish. Sweet that Bute says he wanst to go to America.
Btw, why has Bute such a short reach? just 70", seeing that he's 6'2" I would have expected at least a reach of about 75"...
they will be at least 5 pounds between them tomorow at the begining of the fight! Then Zuniga will prolly lost 1 pound of blood in the fight! :ko
Genetic i guess . Even if Lucian doesnt have a long reach it doesnt show because his fighting tall with his small arm and it give him an advantage on speed. but its true hes arm lenght are not reprensatative of a guy of 6'2"
Decebal, you can edit your avatar now. I changed my mind, I finally put a girl I met at the weight-in. She has been important in Bute's career.
