There will be purse bids tomorrow - Aug 16 - for IBF supermiddle champ Alejandro Berrio´s mandatory defence against Romanian, based in Canada, Lucian Bute.

He should sleep well, he's going to receive a career payday - most likely - and is about to find out how much exactly...

Its going to be a little sad to see Berrio go, he was fun to watch. I would have liked to see Lacy fight him, that would have been fireworks until Jeff ended things.

But Bute is the new breed.

No Purse bid according to fightnews Canada!?

    Berrio-Bute at the Bell!
    By Dave Spencer, FightNews Canada
Alejandro Berrio will be making his first title defense of his IBF super-middleweight crown versus mandatory challenger Lucian Bute October 11 at the Bell Centre in Montreal. A purse-bid was avoided yesterday when the two sides came together and reached an agreement. The Colombian born Berrio (26-4 25KO) won the vacant crown in March with a stoppage victory of the previously undefeated Robert Stieglitz in Germany. For the undefeated Bute (20-0 16KO) who will boxing on his home turf in Montreal, he won the right to meet the champion this past June with a decision victory over Sakio Bika in an IBF elimination fight.

This is good news although the IBF doesn't mean a lot at 168 at the moment.

It's good news as long as Berrio doesnt change his mind after a couple of days like last time.

I've only seen a little of Bute but to me he looks a good promosing fighter with an exciting style .

He should be able to Ko Berrio , but if there is one thing Berrio has it's a punchers chance .

If he does not sign the contract this time he will be stripped, simple as that...

It's a good fight - very intriguing. Bute should be able to box smartly enough against Berrio to win but Berrio always has that outside chance. I'll be watching this one for sure.

Berrio has an awesome punch but thats it. Maybe he can test Butes chin though. But i think Bute will outbox Berrio. Bute is a verry talented young fighter.
