Thanks for the clarification. I've watched that round dozens of times and I still find it hard to believe Bute somehow held on to win. It was definitely an ending guaranteed to bring out the rulebooks. The referee's main transgression, in my opinion, was making it look like he was helping Bute win when all he was doing really was following the rules. His actions made it look far shadier than it actually was. For the record, I actually like Bute quite a bit. My company represents Andrade so I'm obviously a fan of his. I hope they get together for another fight here soon. Even if it's after Bute unifies against Froch, which I believe he will do.
I was at the weight-in today and I asked Lucian who and when and he said that he will deceide in about 3 or 4 days. So, I asked a close Romanian reporter and he said that the odds were 60-40 in favor of a fight in the UK against Froch, the other 40% were for a fight to happend here in Montreal. But this one dosen't involve Froch or a unification. It would showcase a rematch of a well talked about fight between Bute and Andrade. Heard it from the horse's mouth guys, we will have to wait a couple of more days and we can set-up our schedule of fall boxing....
In La Presse newspaper this morning, it's written that the IBF will announce a purse bid for the Bute-Andrade-rematch because GBP and Interbox haven't reached an agreement. Bute has to decide soon if he wants to ask them the permission for a unification before having to face his mandatory. Every information leads to an announcement very soon.
Yes, but the occasion for a unification could disappear for a long time, that's why I'd prefer Bute-Froch first, then Andrade, an optional defense and another big fight. That's my dream year for Bute.
I'd be suprised if the Ring were to sanction it. Kessler is essentially 'inactive' so they won't surpass him to give the title to the winner of Froch-Bute, IMO. Both fighters deserve a huge pat on the back if this fight is made. For me, Froch via TKO in the 10th. I know you guys haven't seen much of him over there but when he chooses to box, Froch is very impressive.
