I am in no way a Bute fan, but I think this is a great fight for people to really see how good he is. It is better than all the tomato cans he has fought in the past. SMW is one of the most live divisions right now, let us all appreciate these genuinely live fights.

Escopeta is right here. Claiming Miranda and Andrade is not particularly overwhelming. Like Escopeta said, they're gate keepers. Good enough to keep most posers honest(well, maybe they can't anymore since Andrade is more or less done and Miranda went to 175), but not good enough to win a title much less win against the elite.

Fact is, Johnson is probably the steepest challenge Bute has taken and would be favored against anyone Bute has faced. However, he would be the underdog against the elite of 168.

dude lets just pretend i take what u say seriously...but i dont...regardless of the level of competators he has had, he has still clearly beaton everyone that other top level fighter have faced as well and clearly outboxed them. nocked them out when others fayled and dominated where others won but less convincingly for now all we can do is compare apples with apples and oranges with oranges. as forest gump put it...thats all i have to say about that:D

Bute takes the best available fighter and people still *****. How predictable!!!

It will be even more entertaining reading the complaints after Bute beats him easier than anyone prior, and I do not mean Richard!

Best Post in this thread, Can I print and Frame it.

Lucian Bute KO'd Miranda in RD 3. And Ward bet Miranda by 9-3 round UD.

Lucian Bute KO'd Fulgencio Zuniga in RD 4 and Tavoris cloud won a 9-3 rounds UD to him also Pavlik won a 9 round TKO.

Lucian Bute bet Librado Andrade by 4th round KO and wide UD, being knockedown once late. And Kessler bet Andrade by 11-1 Rounds UD.

Lucian Bute Bet Sakio Bika by 10-2 UD and Ward did the same.

Lucian Bute TKO'd Brian Magee at round 10 and Froch did at RD 11.

His wins compared to Ward, Froch and Kessler's wins verses equal fighters are more dominant wins for bute then them. Yes, He needs to fight those guys but Pavlik, Dirrell, Mikkel Kessler and Peter Quillen turned down and Froch, Ward, and Hopkins have fights planned. Glen Johnson's the next best thing, It's a step up - But what do the haters do,? Put down Glen Johnson, another Great fighter. To help put down Bute. It's Called TROLLING. Face it Bute Haters, Your running out of excuses.

Bika actually won four rounds against Ward but his personal judges only gave him one.

Wishful thinking...Care to make a bet? If Johnson wins I leave, if not, it's bye bye for you.

I know you're a Bute fan and I can respect that, I like his talent. But doing the analysis of "oh, he beat him worse than another guy because he KO'd him" doesn't really hold much weight for me. Great, he KO'd Miranda in the 3rd round and Ward cruised to an easy decision against him. What does that show? That shows that Bute probably has more power than Ward...but we already knew that. Abraham and Pavlik also beat Miranda "more impressively" than Ward, how did Abraham-Ward turn out?

Looking at another fight, comparing his Andrade fights to Kessler vs. Andrade. I think it's a pretty big deal that he KO'd Andrade, but once again, to say it's more impressive is in the eye of the beholder, why? Because you managed to inaccurately portray the fight...every judge scored Kessler-Andrade 120-108(12-0). Andrade made Kessler look like a boxing diety. Some of those rounds could have been considered standing 10-8 rounds, it was totally lopsided. Now, Bute didn't win every round of the first fight and it had a contraversy and he was knocked down. He then won the rematch with a nice KO in the 4th. But in light of what happened in Kessler-Andrade and both Bute-Andrade fights I'd say Kessler handled it more impressively.

The point is....it doesn't matter. Most of the fights you listed the superior fighter handled the inferior fighter with ease(sometimes in different ways). Not everyone has the same approach coming into a fight.

Johnson will put up a good fight and will give Bute all he can handle.
