This fight is nowhere near close to happening. The only reason it is even being talked about is that there is little choice for Bute to fight. It looks like Green and Bika will fight each other to take over JT's place in the tourney.

Miranda is still trying to work something out with Stieglitz, that is what he was hoping for. If that option is gone then Miranda also has little choice as to who he can fight and actually make any money. Process of elimination is Bute fights Miranda. I just dont think Edison will take this fight unless the money is right. HBO and Interbox better dig deep or Bute will be sitting without a dancing partner come April.

Actually, if someone wasn't paying attention, they might think the guy died from our posts now that I reread them.

I like Miranda and hope the Stieglitz fight comes accross which is winnable and he could end up a champion but Bute will outclass him and KO him leaving him in a way worse position than before the fight.

I'll believe it if I hear it from Pantera.

If you mean me and not Edison Miranda himself, then you saw what I have to say about it.

    Here is the bottom line...
If Universaum decides to replace Miranda on Jan 9th (which it looks like they will at least try) and dont give Miranda a reschedule date in the next 4-8 weeks then the Stieglitz fight is dead (not Robert himslef )
We should know all this by next week.

Without Stieglitz there is nobody other than Bute available at 168lbs that Miranda can fight other than low paying ESPN bouts. On Bute's side there is nobody HBO would be willing to place him against accept Miranda. So it makes all the sense in the world for this fight to happen. We know Bute is up for the challenge and we also know Pantera never turns down a top fight, anyone, anywhere.

Here is what I see the problem being. Miranda and his team felt confident they would beat Stieglitz, even in Germany. So the risk was well worth the reward. I am not so sure how confident they are to fight Bute, who many consider to be top 3 SMW, if not the top. So the risk here may not be worth the reward unless the money is too good to turn down. Will HBO and Interbox want to pay enough to make this fight happen? Too me that is the golden question and we will have to wait to see.

My guess, at this point. If Stieglitz is buried :)lol:) then I give Miranda vs Bute in April a 65% chance at his stage.

Bute should not waste time with a contender but unify vs. Stieglitz then face Pavlik. Pantera had the chance to pick up a belt but pulled out due to health reasons, which is unfortunate. But Lucian should go for the 2nd title instead, it's a much more meaningful fight.

HBO doesnt care about Stieglitz or his belt. Bute isnt going to fight in Germany. Never gonna happen.

With the Super Six going, HBO needs to come up with his own #1 SMW. Beating a beltless fighter who's 0-3 vs. the Super Six would not produce a legit guy in the public's eye. A unification however, even if it's Stieglitz, would be a solid answer to Showtime, who's at least a year away from a possible unification. HBO needs a quality answer, either "name" (Pavlik) or "belt" (WBO) recognition.

Go take over Greenburg's job if you think you know how to run the show better. Super Six has a loooong loooong way to go. Bute needs many fights before he will even dream of fighting the winner of the Super 6

If HBO and Interbox bring good money to the table, Stieglitz will agree to fight where ever the unification fight is...

Again, HBO wont pay Stieglitz one penny. They have no interest in him.

HBO may not have any interest in Stieglitz, but they have interest in Bute and they might want to see him with two belts...
