I think that's an interesting comment from Zuniga, and I brought it up because on ESB Zuniga is just some bum Pavlik beat. Pavlik made a peak Zuniga quit on his stool. An old fat, battle-worn, Zuniga recently went the distance with Cloud.

Rubio traveled to Canada and smacked the **** out of David Lemieux; a guy most of us thought was a blue chip prospect. Pavlik made Rubio start crying and holler "no mas."

Miranda was a freaking beast at 160. Hopkins was fully prepared to proclaim Miranda the next great middleweight champion. We saw what happened when a peak Edison Miranda tangled with Pavlik.

My point is that the record speaks for itself. Kelly Pavlik is very hard to beat, and it is foolish to act like Bute will just run over him with ease. I have no problem saying Lucian should be the favorite going in, but this ain't no stroll down Primrose Lane!

 

Faded Pavlik is the biggest name that Bute has faced but it's a little unfair to claim he is the best only because Pav hasn't looked very good north of 160 other than the 2nd Taylor fight.

I like this fight because Bute probably views it as an easy night and Pavlik knows this and doesn't give a **** (reminds me a little of Berto-Ortiz). IMO it would be wrong to write off Pavlik as he has faced far better competition in his career and should be well prepared for the spotlight and anything that comes his way.

I like Bute here to be the first to stop Kelly but if Kelly gets him hurt than I wouldn't be surprised to see him shut it down.

One thing is clear, if they wanted the fight, they would have tune up Kessler with a leftie insted of that french guy. I think the Pavlik of three years ago would have given Bute hell. The alcholic Kelly Staphlik of today is not the same fighter.

I know this is your boy boo, but I just dont see Kelly having any chance as it is today. Maybe if he got another tune-up where he looked a little better thereby restoring some confidence, he'd be in with a shot. But I don't think he'll take a tune-up with a potential big purse ripe for the taking in Canada. At least not a tune-up with a live opponent.

I dont think there was that much upside in his previous fight. Maybe you saw something that I didn't?

I think Brian Magee would be a good tune up for Pavlik.

 

At least he's a southpaw, but that would be fairly dangerous for Kelly.


I was thinking that perhaps Pavlik is looking for a 2 fight deal with Interbox. First St.Juste and then Bute if he beats St. Juste. The deal should then be overpayment for St.Juste and underpayment for Bute if he makes it through.

Well, I think team Bute want a name oponent so much, that they pray for Palvlik's health everyday. They wanted to face Pavlik right after the Martinez fight, but guess what, Martinez had someting to say about that.

Brian Magee is a dangerous fight allright, but he would be perfect for the saga and the hype of the fight.
