If the Bute vs. Pavlik is on, have anyone wondering about how fast they have come to an agreement..?? Seems both fighters thinks is the best fight for them here and now.....

Promotional firms are close and get along quite well. They've been letting each other's fighters fight on the one's cards, etc.

It has nothing to do with fighters thinking it's the best fight but rather one that is easy to make and will gather enough interest to be considered a big enough bout.

Sounds like an August tune-up is a sure thing. They don't have an opponent, but that should not be a problem. There are no doubt plenty of young guns out there who feel like they could add KP's name to their record.

It's a really smart move, and I like Kelly's chances against Bute alot better with it. I also like the quick turnaround between the August tuneup fight and the Bute fight. Kelly's at his best when he fights regularly, so that should give him the perfect opportunity to keep the momentum rolling.

I find it odd that people who saw Bute fight Brinkley and Magee think he can just walk right over Kelly Pavlik. If Magee had real power, Bute would have been in serious trouble. I just watched that fight again, and Bute is really not all that hard to hit.

Bute does most of his damage with body shots, but I don't remember Pavlik ever being hurt by a body shot, and one thing we know about KP is that you have to do a hell of a lot more than just hurt him if you want to beat him. You have to keep him off of you for 12 long rounds, and that is easier said than done because he will not stop trying to win.

He sure stopped trying once Martinez began lightin' his ass up.

Bull****. He was 1 or 2 flush shots from taking Martinez out in both of the last 2 rounds. You'd have to be pretty damned biased and delusional to say Pavlik stopped trying in any fight.

And who the **** are you? I post facts and history. If I give an opinion, it's based on over 4 decades as a boxing fan. As near as I can tell you're just some snot nosed brat who is obviously relatively new to the sport. ESB has an ignore list option for guys like you.

    ^Plus 1, Pimp C.

I feel that Pav can find that sweet spot on Bute's chin if he let's his hands go like he used to. He's going to have to let 'em go in order to be successful here. Bute is a very skilled SMW, so this is going to be a tough fight.

However skilled he may be, I really believe Bute's chin is questionable, which really is an understatement in actuality. I'm not sold on him being able to take KP's straight right even on an occasional basis. Bute can be a mover, but he's stationary a lot of the time. He's hittable.

If this fight comes off this year, it's KP's ticket to getting back on top of the heap. I'll be pulling for him to win BIG here. The key is, Pavlik HAS to believe he can do it and give it his all. It would be such a great story of redemption if he pulls it off.

Don't have a problem or agenda against either guy, but I'm curious to see what happens when The Ghost touches that chin. :bbb
