I am just not convinced that the old Pavlik is back and I doubt that we will ever see him again.

Anyway I think Pavlik needs another fight, where he shows some more than what he did last time. I think this is too early and he could be in for a solid spanking.

Personally I'd rather see see Bute against Johnson.

Kessler is not the same Kessler with 2 belts travelling for 8 mil $ to Great Britain, Kessler might be the same Kessler who travelled to Oakland with one belt for 2.5 mil $ ; he would have travelled to Canada with just his name and resume for 3 mil $; Did Saurland made a counter - offer to Interbox giving Bute at least 3 mil $ when they already planned before taking Boudla, becoming mando for WBO?

i think Bute will get from his fight with Mendy at least 1,5 mil $ ; all this having around bloodsukers like Obreja and Udrea; 2 mil $ gives Showtime, probably Udrea's ministry will give 4-5 mil $ for making the fight plus the tickets ; Mendy is not a name he's just a mando, a challanger; you do the math.

Hopkins has just beat pascal, sorry but if bute were to fight hopkins this year, beat him by a wide UD or KO, YES it would be a career defining fight, bute would have few fights match when he retires. Hopkins is pushing 50 and nowbody but calzaghe is stopping him.

Pavlik to me best days are behind him, don't get me wrong i would watch, but mendy, was good step for bute, an a pascal or hopkins would be great, next step

Pavlik should turn down the offer and run.

Kessler will probably make 2½M fighting Stieglitz. Interbox should have offered more if they really wanted the fight otherwise it would make little sense from Kessler's POV. It's Bute that needs Kessler and not the other way around.

Is Showtime paying 2M for the Mendy fight??? I thought that this fight was not part of the 3-fight deal. At least that's what Bute fans has been preaching ever since the fight was made.

Seems like a cash-out fight from Top Rank's point of view. Maybe Arum's tired of promoting Kelly and dealing with Pavlik's issues because jumping straight to Bute in November isn't in Kelly's best interests right now. He really needs one more fight to sharpen his game back up if he's going to give himself the best chance to win.

if Kessler will probably make 2½M fighting Stieglitz then Stieglitz would probably make 7½M; if Interbox's offer did't please Sauerland how much do you claime Sauerland offered Interbox (because i seriously doubt they even make an offer)?

don't know for sure; Showtime is paying 2 mil $ per fight in a contract of 3-fight deal with a clause that allow a fight in Bute's native country; considering the context i understood the clause was for the second fight. Besides if Showtime wants Bute to face the winner of super6 if he stays undefeated why should they pay him in advance only 2 mil $, as we all know that fight may produce lots of $?

It is indeed interesting to see how so much people gives no chance at all to either boxer. I think it will be quite close (except if Bute can uppercut the body at will).

But my boy is Bute and I think he'll win this!

Am i the only one who thinks this fight is terrible? Bute is gonna kill Pavlik. Pavlik is not ready for this. If some how Pavilk pulls this off he will in my book be superman. But I think this is going to be a sided affair and Pavlik is just going to look goofy in the ring.

Props for not just Pavlik but also Bute for taking the fight. Pavlik is no pushover and has only been beaten by technicians in Martinez & Hopkins which I consider smarter than Bute though Bute is no slouch in the Ring IQ department. Pavlik should be a test, not a stepping stone. Remember he won some of the mid-rounds against Martinez before looking like ground beef though this is a higher weight. I wish he had a another tune-up to get more acclimated to the weight but he does have a chance against Bute no matter how slim that might be. Pavlik is on the downslide working his way up while Bute is rising but should face more challenges. Should be a good fight and though I favor Bute to win big, again Pavlik is no pushover.

And I'm fairly certain Pavlik is taller than 6 1.5. And Ward taller than an even 6 foot. But that's what boxrec lists them as. Point is bute's physique is absolutely nothing special for this division. Having ~ a half inch height advantage and a 2-4 inch reach disadvantage compared to his contemporaries is not "extraordinary" as the OP puts it. It's all moot because i think the op was saying that in admiration as someone would comment on a body builders physique.
