I am sure that Pascal is more approachable than Bute.

I went to the Froch vs. Bute weigh-in, I was in the front row, with Bute's dad next to me, with a Romanian flag and all, shouting Bu-te, Bu-te as hard as I could - and the only people on stage who made eye contact or acknowledged our support for the fight were... Carl Froch and Eddie Hearns. After the weigh-in, and after Bute rehydrated and chose the gloves etc., a lot of Romanian and Canadian fans were waiting for Bute to come to say hello and maybe sign an autograph or two, or even just to acknowledge the support, but he just walked on past quickly and got into his car and drove off with his entourage. Let me tell you, though, Froch was really impressed by the support of the Bute fans!

When Bute walked past the fans without acknowledging them, with a superior smile on his face, before getting into his car to drive off, with the Bute fans lining the way and shouting Bu-te, Bu-te, Froch was so impressed he started shouting Bu-te, Bu-te himself, only half joking. Later on, when Drozzy and I were walking through Nottingham and met Froch's father, brothers and then Froch himself at a local pub where they were having a party before the fight, they volunteered to have Drozzy's programme signed by Froch and had a long chat with us and plenty of banter. Froch then acknowledged us and said hello! too and thanked us when we wished him all the best. What a contrast between the arrogant and cold Bute entourage who never came to see us before or after the weigh-in or to acknowledge our support! :-( I didn't want to admit it to myself, but I was really disappointed with Bute and his team, not only for myself, but for all the Canadian fans who had come to the weigh-in, the Bute fans who had come as a group from Romania, and the independent Romanians who had come from throughout the UK for the weigh-in. The only nice (really nice) person in the Bute entourage at the weigh-in were Bute's dad and a cousin with one of Bute's nephews.

If I had been a neutral fan, I could only have supported Froch that night. Made me sick to see Bute not pick up the flag when it was thrown to him. He should have picked it up and handed it over, because there was a no-flag policy that night - the police were worried the Romanian fans would be attacked in Nottingham if they came in carrying flags.

I understand why it's hard for you to decide whom to support, Badlok. My guess is you shouldn't try to decide at all- just see what happens on the night. It may surprise you - you may support both fighters at different times during the fight and I predict you'll be very happy no matter who wins as long as it's been a good, fair fight! That's all that really matters! I will probably end up supporting Bute a bit more than Pascal, but I don't think I will be upset if Pascal wins. :good

The Republic of Moldova is to Romania what East Germany was to West Germany before Re-Unification. One part of the old Principality of Moldova is now in Romania and the other is The Republic of Moldova. I think that's the simplest and most concise way of explaining it.:good

Especially for huge Bute fans, I think the best bet is to bet on Pascal to win. He is clearly the favourite in my view. If Pascal loses, I don't think they'll mind too much...

That's pretty **** Dece.I would have found that difficult to believe before the fight when I watched the Sky OTR special on him and heard the noise from The Bell Centre.I assumed part of the appeal was him being fan friendly.
Now there's no excuse when people have spent money that could've went elsewhere I'm sure, but(and I can't believe I'm saying this to you of all people Dece!!!)
Do you think it's possible that his head wasn't right (making weight can take it out fighters) or do you think he is always quite aloof?
It's still no excuse, and I've just lost more than I could afford with the Burns fight being cancelled,so you should appreciate the money people sacrifice to follow you.
But was it really him,in your opinion?

You can't always expect from a boxer going into the most difficult challenge of his life to stay up and chat with you, and party before the fight so you can meet him in a country where he might have walked in for the first time.
What about the Froch fans who seen Carl speaking with you and Drozzy and didn't spoke with them ? I bet you weren't the only guys in that pub. Should they feel left out to and cheer for Bute instead ?

When his father told me Bute hadn't slept all night before the weigh-in struggling to make weight, I thought that was really unprofessional. I was angry. He looked good on the scales, smiling and looking confident, and he was. Too confident. He was on a huge wave and probably light-headed. Making the weight was the huge victory for him. He probably used up all his mental energy trying to make weight. It is understandable why he would want to get out of there as soon as possible to try to recoup, but he was taking all the support too much for granted for my liking - let's not forget - the Romanians/Canadians made it a 'home' weigh-in for Bute, atmosphere-wise, completely dominating the local support for Froch... Bute could have shown his appreciation a bit more.

The foot infection which meant no training at all for 2-3 days a couple of days before the fight, coupled with the extreme difficulties in making weight, and when Bute came into the arena, he was unrecognisable. Yeah, he's always nervous, but the way he was staring at that flag, for example, was strange. He looked like he didn't want to be there. He was completely out of it, mentally - and that showed in that fight. I'm not saying Froch would not have stopped Bute on Bute's best night, but from what I saw before the fight started, this was probably Bute's worst night.

I didn't expect Bute to come to chat with me. I expected the InterBox people, e.g. David Messier, who had been there for 20-30 minutes before the weigh-in started, a few feet away from us, just chatting with some of the organisers, to come to say hello or at least to acknowledge us in some way. The Sky crew presenters came to see us, took interviews, said hello, were really impressed with the Romanian/Canadian support, etc. The Bute/Interbox team, however, kept themselves very cut off... so much so that it was impolite, not to mention unfriendly. I'm telling you, if you yourself had been part of Bute's entourage, you would have definitely come over for a chat, especially since the weigh-in took a lot of time to get going after the EST.

What other Froch fans? Froch was in a pub full of his mates - we didn't go in. We met his family outside the pub. One of his brothers took Drozzy's programme to have it signed by Carl, who was inside. Whilst we were having banter with his dad and brothers (for about 15-20 minutes), Carl came out to speak on the phone. His partner came out too with little Rocco later. I didn't want to bother him, so I just went up and he seemed to recognise me from the weigh-in. I wished him good luck and he thanked me and he said see you at the fight. I'm sure he would have taken a picture with us had he asked him to, but as I said, I didn't wish to bother him. We took a picture with his dad and brothers instead. Very nice people and very friendly.

Bute acted a bit like Michael Jackson whereas Froch acted like your brother's mate from the boxing club. That was my point.

both of you guys are making too much of my post. Don't be so harsh on Bute or on me.;)
