I don't know, from the posts I just assumed there were a lot of active alcoholics posting here. That and 9 year olds.

There is one chance Pavlik has.

Bute is a bit of an optical illusion because of the way he fights.

Fact is that he has unusually short arms for a top fighter. One could say that he has T-rex arms!

For example, although he was taller than Mendy yesterday he had a much shorter reach. To minimize this problem he turns his side more than other fighters... so that he presents his right side. The side ways fighting is an advantage in many ways because there is not so much to hit - but it can also be exploided by a clever fighter/trainer.

I, for example, think that Bute could find it difficult to get past Froch's looooooooooong arms, because whereas Kessler, Ward, Dirrell fight quite square - Froch likes to also turn to the side and thus make his already very long reach even longer. And like Bute, Froch also likes to think that raising the shoulder means he can have one hand down by his waist.

The biggest former hype job in boxing fighting the current biggest hype job in boxing. When I say hype job, it doesn't mean I think they are/were garbage. Just overrated by many.

Well, Bute has been KO'd before in the 12th. I give even this past prime version of Pavlik a chance to wear Bute down and stop him. I hope Pavlik does knock him out to be honest.

Reason being, if Bute loses he won't be as apt to duck the top fighters out there. If Pavlik wins, maybe there can be a rematch with Martinez at 166 with could catapult Sergio into a 168 fight cause nobody as 160 and below is going to fight him.

Bute will fight a super six opponent after he beats Pavlik. His options are opening up.
Sergio is too small for 168, he said so himself.

If you stop and think about it I think you'll realize that we've seen Pavlik do everything a fighter would need to do to beat the living **** out of Bute. However, we have NEVER seen him put it all together in the same fight. I'll give you a few examples.

A picture perfect and fast 1-1-2.

    A really nasty 3-2.

Left hook -- left uppercut -- over hand right.

Effectively counter punch against faster hands.

    Hook off the jab.

    Absorb monster shots.

Switch to southpaw and back to orthodox while throwing a combination.

    Lead rights while moving backward.

    et, et.

If he ever put it all together consistently, he would be a very dangerous man. However, up to this point he's never put more than a couple of those things together in the same fight.

i agree with what your saying but i dont think bute is the type of fighter that is over confident, they (bute and larouche) set up nice fight plans and bute tends to stick to them exept for that first andrade fight where he got carried away and whent toe to toe and drained all his energy, bad idea concidering he had low red blood cells due to illness prior to fight. but he learnd from that mistake and has great controle under pressure.

Sergio is not too small. He has the skills to fight at 168. Like I have said before, he should be targeting Bute.

You've been taking notes on me huh? So I can't really like Pavlik unless I think has beats or has a very solid chance to beat everybody out there? Yes, I do like Kelly Pavlik. I've said it a lot before as you've mentioned. A kid from Youngstown, no hype around him, comes up and destroys Miranda and Taylor to take the middleweight title. That was awesome and I loved every minute of it. But I see how limited he is, how hittable he is, and now, how he looks to be on the decline. He's very beatable right now. More than ever. His best days are very likely behind him.

Well him and Dibella certainly aren't as confident about that as you are...They've been quoted on their reluctance to aim a fight at 168lbs.
