Bute vs. TBA June 19th!

    So who is Bute going to fight for his next title defense. I think it's pretty clear it won't be Andrade since he's fighting in April (and that fight might be cancelled...)

    I was hoping for a all Canadian showdown with Jean Pascal but I think it could also be Edison Miranda or Jean-Paul Mendy.

    Also, Andre Ward just called Bute out on fightnews.com. So it could happen. :)

    Pascal, Ward, Green... I personnally would prefer that Bute doesn't fight Pascal. I would go for Lucian but be sad for Jean.

    Andre Ward would be my pick.Two young,undefeated fighters in their prime but Andre might need more seasoning before a title shot.

    Andre Ward? He's not even achieved as much as Dirrell, and that's not saying much...is he ready? Mendy is out of the question...he's a glorified journeyman. Miranda? Hmmm...Is there no one better?:think

    Pascal...is fighting on the 4th of April, right? So it cannot be him. Not enough time. Right?

    how about giving him the rematch he deserves, I have no respect for Bute.

    Andrade has a fight on April the 4th. Then, the rematch will come. Never heard of promoting a fight? More, Librado will earn more in a mandatory than in an optional. So, he probably prefers to wait.

    Ward may be calling Bute. I'm not sure his promoter will want the same thing.

    Ward is rated in the top15 and he has some decent wins. Just as good as the best wins of Pascal or Froch before they fought for the title. He called out Bute in the media. He is an Olympic Gold Medalist and he is backed by US tv. Why the hell not?

    I'm suggesting Jean-Paul Mendy because:

    1- He just showed up in the IBF ratings.
    2- He made the final of the Showtime 168lbs tournement.

    Miranda would be a very good opponent. You guys are seriously under estimating him since his lost to Abraham.

    GYM wont let Pascal fight Bute at this point!

    For the next opponent let Showbox choose again for the June fight and then let's enjoy the Andrade rematch!

    ...it could be Alan Green too...I guess Showtime will call the shots again. Hope they pick someone better than Zuniga, though.

    I'd be happy with Miranda as an optional defence... I would be happy with Green, Ward, Dirrell too...all these are decent names for an optional defence.

    The question is would Allan Green take the fight? He turned it down before. My guess is he would price himself out of that fight.

    Interbox and Bute wants to fight on US tv. There is no way in hell Showtime would accept Brinkley as an opponent. Like you I would be greatly disappointed if Interbox pick Brinkley for the fight in June.
