Dirrell shouldn't be fighting stay busy fights at this stage of his career. He should be fighting top journeymen or older former fringe contenders. He's far from being the finished article, after all.
to be fair, Dirrell's opponent Derrick Findlay is coming off a first round KO of Elliot Bland in October. Don't let Bland's 1-18 record fool you, he's solid :bbb:yep
Damn, Decebal, i can't see why you would be so happy to watch Bute-Bika II... I want Bute to clean out the division and move up to 175 and he already beat Bika so why the hell would he bother? I want to see him fight Taylor, Kessler, Dawson, Froch and even Pascal and hes already 29 so i don't think he should give pointless rematches
Un combat contre Pascal remplirait le Centre Bell. Wow, t'imagine combien que y'aurait une atmosphere. Le québec serait presque divisé en 2 pour ce combat la..J'crois pas que sa va arriver bientot, mais sa devra arriver un jour.
I agree with this. While Bika is a tough fight and Bute is taking a risk in rematching him it's not a fight I'm overly excited about. Bute beat him the first time and I'm confident he'd do it again. To a similar degree I think the same thing about the Andrade rematch. It makes sense to see it happen as there is controversy surrounding that fight. But what I saw that first fight was a good fight that Bute was in command of for almost the entire time. Andrade almost pulled off a hail mary type ending but that was about it. Bute beat the count, ref seemed corrupt, end of story. A Bute-Andrade rematch will see Bute win another 10 rounds in an entertaining but clear win for Bute. Bute needs to look for fights against one of the other top guys. Taylor, Kessler, Abraham, Dirrell, Ward, Pavlik, Dawson, etc. I'd rather see him take on Pascal, Miranda, or Green in his next fight other than Bika.
You seem to suggest Andrade somehow got lucky in putting Bute down in the last round. This wasn't the fight I saw. I saw a fighter who started to get the better of Bute in the fifth round, but who gave up doing what made him successful for a couple of rounds, before starting to grind Bute down more and more in rounds 9-11 and almost finishing the job in the 12th. I am far from being convinced that Bute could beat Andrade in a rematch. As to Bika, he might have been beaten by Bute before, but as some have already written, he's better and more proven than anyone else mentioned as a possible opponent for Bute: Miranda, Pascal, Ward, Dirrell, etc., and, given his style, he'd help Bute prepare for a fight against Andrade more than any of these other fighters too. Given that Bute won't be fighting the likes of Kessler, Taylor, Pavlik or Andrade in June anyway, he might as well fight the best fighter that would be available to him.
I thought Bute won the fight comfortably, I don't recall exactly but I thought he won 9 possibly 10 rounds. Andrade had his moments and Bute had to work hard to win each of his rounds but he got the job done. I'd agree that the knockdown was from Andrade's pressure and previous work, that was no lucky punch. I used the term hail mary because he needed a ko to win and it happened at the very end of the fight just as time was to expire. But I see a rematch going in a similar direction actually I see Bute staying away more so he doesn't get ground down. I think a rematch wouldn't be as good as the first fight and I definitly don't think we'd get the same dramatic ending. I understand a Bute-Andrade rematch and it does hold some appeal to me, much more so than a Bika rematch. Bika is a tough nut and Bute isn't getting a Kessler or Taylor fight next but I'd rather see someone other than Bika. Pascal, Miranda, Green, etc seem more appealing than a Bika rematch. Bika may be more proven but a rematch isn't more appealing. I'd take Miranda, Pascal, or Green fight over Bika, they might not be as proven but Bute against one of those guys is something I haven't seen before and they all bring something different to the table.
More so, Dirrell is ranked no.1 with the WBO and no.2 with the WBC, so he can wait for his title shot!
Jean Bédard prépare ce combat pour 2010, question de faire plaisir aux fans mais est-ce que GYM sera prêt à faire sa part aussi?:huh
i really dislike bute i think dirrell deserves this fight defintly think andrade deserves it but has a fight scheduled. i think miranda could give bute a beatdown but i dont think bute has the balls to fight him. but however he fights i hope he loses.I hate to be so bias against someone but i just dont like his style of fighting
