Ok so I'm getting increasingly pissed off with people not only rating Bute as the best SMW in the world, but also naming him in P4P lists. Don't get me wrong, the guy is an huge talent, fun to watch, and I like him alot, but let's be real, he has beaten next to no-one of note. Of course, this isn't his fault (super 6 has taken away his opposition), but it shouldn't change the fact that he hasn't done a great deal in the division.

So let's see what everyone thinks. Bute vs the SMWs

Bute vs Ward - IMO Ward is too quick, too dominate on the inside and outside, and will beat Bute by a fairly wide UD. Ward UD

Bute vs Froch - Great match up IMO. Would be a great war, 50-50 fight for me. I'd give froch a slight edge as he has more big fight experience and has seen it all before. Froch SD

Bute vs Abraham - Bute beats the smaller man comfortably winning most rounds. May even stop the King late on. Bute UD/TKO.

Bute vs Kessler - Yes i no he has his injury and we don't no what he has left, but taking the Froch fight into account, I still say Kessler has enough in the tank to beat him. Would be like the Froch fight IMO in that it would be a war which Kessler has too much for him. Kessler UD

Bute vs Johnson - I think Bute outboxes Glen all night. If he gets caught, he might be in trouble, but I would expect him to win by a wide UD or even a late stoppage. Bute UD

Bute vs Dirrell - Dirrell gave Froch nightmares with his speed, and was beating AA comfortably before the DQ. I would expect him to frustrate Bute early with his speed raking up the early rounds. As he starts to slow down, Bute applys to pressure and looks for the KO. Late rounds it's all to play for. Think Bute may stop him or just nick a SD with crys of robbery. Close fight, but I'd pick Bute just.

Bute vs Green - not exactly the greatest SMW ever, Bute stops him in mid rounds. Bute KO.

So on that record, Bute would be 4-3-0. Hardly the record of a man top of his division. But hey that's my opinion. What do you think? How does he do against the TOP SMWs?

Pre Froch i would agree (Ward also beat him up pretty bad). But in the Froch fight he showed a lot of heart and his warrior mentality. Bute is not as slippery as Joey or Ward. His style is perfect for Kessler.

i agree kessler won the froch fight on heart

Bute is very good but he loses to Ward and Froch. He beats Glen Johnson though imo.

I like Bute but i have to admit Froch has a better resume and Ward looks unbeatable at the moment.

Bute has fought no one. No one. He's a talented, exciting fighter, and seems like a great guy, but Ward would school him badly.

Ward will not school him cause Ward never school nobody, but he maybe win in a close fight
Bute vs Froch will be another close fight but Bute will win

Kessler looked sloppy in the Froch fight. He showed heart, that's true but when I heard about his eyes, I understood what was going wrong.

IMO you are wrong on one main point: Kessler isn't able to beat fast southpaw with good lateral movement. Exactly what Bute is.

I think Bute also beats Froch. He would go to the body, which is Froch's weakness. Bute is pretty good in that department.

Against Ward, I really don't know. Ward's style in his last 2 fights was kind of weird.

Yes, Sakio Bika, Librado Andrade, and Alejandro Berrio were all bums. No one in the SPW division is any good. Everyone's a scrub. Get real. Ward would face real problems with Bute, as would Froch.

Ward schooling Bute like 120-108 ?? I certainly don't think so...

Andre ward is no Roy Jones Jr.... He's good but not as good as most of you project him to be.

I presently pick him to beat Bute in a close technical and boring fight but only by winning 7 rounds to 5, with possibly 1 or 2 that could have gone either way.

Bute is a boxer before being a puncher and many people don't realize that because they have only seen versions of him knocking out other guys early or looking ordinary as in the Brinkley fight.

The one thing Bute must start doing again ASAP is putting precise combinations together, like he use to do in the past.

Before the Zuniga bout, Bute sort of stopped throwing shots to the body or uppercuts and now he focuses too much on that, not enough on combinations.

Bute wouldn't let Ward fight on the inside and from the outside Ward will need to bring his "A" game to beat him, cause when he's all there, no one masters distance as well as Bute.

I think Froch gives a tough fight equally to both Bute & Ward because of his incredible reach, that he can efficiently utilize to his advantage.

All the other guys, Bute beats them at this stage of their respective careers.

Bute beats them all. Ward knows that too. Why do you think Ward refused to allow Bute to fight in the tournament in the first place? How did Ward get all his fights in his home town? Ward cheats, that' seems to be the only way he thinks he can win a fight?!

Bute beats them all because he is far better. Ward wants nothing to do with him. Ward has to have all his fights in his home town with his personal referee and judges. Why do you think Bute was not allowed to fight in the tournament?

    Bute beats them all

    or can beat them all

Ward and Froch are the two toughest

Johnson is a wiley hard hitting veteran and wouldnt be ruled out

Dirrel looked great vs Abraham so maybe him too his weird win and layoff and dropping out of the S6 really took him off the map

Abraham if he cant get the KO then no

Kessler has an injury I think hes done
