"B24 it". Seems like a bad fight for Bute since he didn't look recovered from Froch in his last fight.

Also a link to an interview with Pavlik. Nothing new. Kelly does think he has grown as a fighter under Garcia. Sounds a little calmer than we have heard in some recent interviews too and less bitter. Hope that's a sign that other things in his life are going well and he is focusing on what Kelly Pavlik needs to do.

It sounds like the fight with Ward might be off now from what I have read. A fight with Bute would be a good match up for Pavlik I think. Its a must win fight compared to the fight with Ward, but I like Pavliks chances against Bute.

I haven't seen anything about Pavlik/Ward being canceled. Last I saw from Ward he was still talking about it. Time will tell I guess. I think a focused Kelly with Garcia in his corner matches up better against Ward than Froch but I don't make the fights. I just take them as the are offered up.

I think Arum will be able to protect him in Canada, given that Arum is backing Pavlik I don't forsee an egregious home town decision.

as others have said, it's a much better fight for Pavlik

although I'd watch either, I'd rather see Pavlik-Bute

Ward has dropped out of the fight with Pavlik he needs shoulder surgery, is the claim.
Pavlik will KTFO Bute. A good fight for Pavlik as he will be right back in the top 5.

Pavlik gets KTFO by way of liver explosion.

He has probably liver disease due to his alcoholic habits.

By the way is he going to accept "peanuts" to fight Bute this time ?

The fight with Ward just fell through, and I was pissed, but this might turn out a lot better. Bute is still a pretty good fighter, Pavlik beating him with make him a more legitimate opponent for Ward, and Bute beating Pavlik would put him right back in the mix. It's more appropriate than either getting a shot at the top right away. The style contrast is also interesting; Pavlik's had trouble with lateral movement and body punching (Martinez, Hopkins), and Bute's a southpaw who's ring generalship apparently goes to **** once he's hurt by a leaping right or gets caught in an exchange.
