I have only seen Bute vs Bika and saw some things that I liked and some that I didn't but overall he's a good fighter that can improve.

    bute is not slow.
    he has good handspeed.

he can fight of the backfoot and frontfoot , can keep up a high tempo and at 6.2 , sizewise is a match for any other 168 fighter.

Why are people knocking Miranda for his last two fights? Are people seriously comparing Miranda's resume to Bute's? C'mon! I like Bute but it's not even close.. Miranda has fought the far-better opposition

So Miranda fought Banks and Porras.. after getting destroyed by Pavlik, can you blame him for wanting a few fights to regain his confidence? Besides.. he's earned it.. he had a 4-fight stretch of Abraham, Gibbs, Green, and Pavlik.. that's an opponent's combined record of 94-1 and before that he fought Eastman.. I'd like to see Bute go through a stretch like that!

Choosing Joppy as his first title defense isn't exactly gettin me real excited..

Agraham, Green and Pavlik are very good opposition.

    But Gibbs? Come one! :rofl

I like Miranda. He is crude but he is an exciting fighter. I still think he has proved absolutely nothing at 168lbs yet tho. But base on his resume at 160lbs. I still put him in my top10.

In the last ~6 months Bute has wins over Bika and Berrio. Two legitimate top10 fighters at the time. Who has done better outside of Calzaghe and Kessler? I think he we can allow him an easy opponent for his first title defense. Now if he fights Omar Sheika in his next fight. I'll be the first one to start complaining. lol

Interesting, I'll see what I can do. There is some more work to do before it's good enough to be published. :D

Have you read the tripe that's usually on there? Give it a go, it's a nice piece.

Maxime... WOW!!! That was a great summary and I read every word. I couldnt have dreamed of a better/more detailed response. I now have a better understanding of who Bute is and why he is considered as the #3 current SMW.

Why many of you (Sean, etc) are trying to bring down Pantera in this thread, I have no idea. There is not one other current boxer that proved he will fight anyone, anywhere and wants the best. Plus, I never said anything bad about Bute. I just dont know much about him and wanted to be educated. Thanks again Maxine for being not only a scholar, but also a gentleman! :good

Yes, Kessler has fought some of the best available in his weight class. But he has done it all in his backyard other than Calzaghe. And he has only fought 5 times in over 3 years.

Bika is another who has fought some of the best and he has been all over the world to do it. Props to him also.

I didnt start this thread to start a pissing match as who has done the most, but to give Pantera crap about his last 2 opponents after his fights that Smokey McNasty pointed out:
4-fight stretch of Abraham, Gibbs, Green, and Pavlik.. that's an opponent's combined record of 94-1 (80kos) and before that he fought Eastman..
And keep in mind Miranda fought these 4 guys in less than 9 months. Pretty unheard of...
Sorry, do some looking, but I would would tend to bet there is not another 9 month stretch with this type of combined record.
